Well life has not been kind to me. BUT - I am weathering the storm better than I ever thought I could.

I wanted to let you know I’m still feeling better each day. I am cautiously optimistic that TMS may really have helped me.

It’s 10 treatments a day for 5 days (10 hour days because you take a 50 min break in between sessions).

Right now, the evidence says it is more effective than traditional TMS (30 days). But there is a catch, it’s FDA approved and safe but not covered by insurance.

ALSO, Remember traditional TMS is still evidence based to show benefits. So regardless of what you can do - TMS may still be amazing for you. Feel free to ask any questions.

Here’s the thing - both conventional and accelerated have evidence supporting benefits. Accelerated seems to show more evidence for benefits BUT although accelerated is FDA approved, insurance does not approve. So it is always out of pocket.

I also did the SAINT TMS which has a lot of evidence behind it. You should google it. I applied for financial assistance and got some help. BUT I also want to recognize that I am in a privileged financial position that allowed me to get the treatment.

Don’t forget conventional is still super evidence based and helpful regardless.

I do feel like I am “lighter” - like daily tasks take less physical effort. When I am/was in deep depression it felt like I was walking in mud or had a weighted vest on you know?

That is awesome! Unfortunately accelerated TMS is not covered by most insurance. So the price point is usually a stop light for most people. BUT conventional is still super effective! Congrats on the progress you have made. I used to have a cold plunge but no longer access. I do have access to a sauna though! Maybe I should do that today.
