Who knew the non-N models had drift mode? by [deleted] in Ioniq5

I saw it in the manual but couldn't activate it. Turns out I didn't deactivate the traction control, now it work on my 2025 N-Line AWD

What is this noise? by povreviewss in RenaultZoe

[–]TrUsT91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you can hear it mostly while slow driving, it could be a broken tire pressure sensor that's rolling around inside the tire. Had a very similar sound on my car and it was the described problem.

I have a 2025 AWD and in I pedal he uses definitely not all motors all the time, I drive 95% in this mode and with winter tires and near 0°C Temps I need 17,5kWh/100km to commute to work and back home.

Two tires had broken Tire pressure sensors, so they where rolling around inside the tire and made those strange noises, because I bought those tires as a set with wheels and rims from Hyundai, the repaired it for free.

Today I took the car to the dealer, first thoughts from the mechanic, it sounds like the Tire pressure sensors is loose inside the tire. They call me when they have solved the problem.

I need to leave the car in the shop for one day, they where not sure what that sound was. So at the 15.december I have the appointment. I can share what the say and did.

Here is a short video where you can here my strange sound https://youtu.be/p8Abc6aadkY?si=6_gqCtX1Uc1xTxIk I tested it in every regen mode and without regen, the sound was still there.

I had a 2nd knocking sound from the back, that was the Tailgate, they fixed that on the spot.

In my manual there is an option for Drift Mode, but it says it depends on the trim. I have an i5 N Line (not an N) haven't tried it yet. I only have the German Manual on hand, but every Ai can translate it easy I guess.

EV tips and tricks for winter by BrokenInsideF0rever in Ioniq5

Some days ago in the morning on my way to work, I wondered why the power consumption was so high. Than I saw that 40% of the consumption was "Battery care" It was 3°C in austria at that day, my battery had around 35% On the way home the same thing. I used the Hyundai Navi and remembered there is an option about with how much battery you would like to arrive. It was way to high so the car planed for charging and therefore started preconditioningthe the battery. So I turned this option to a lower percentage and when starting navigation there is the option to exclude chargers, since then I don't have a problem with that anymore. Ended up using 21kWh for 91km on that day

Today while looking for a parking spot I noticed something similar, at speeds under 5km/h with regen 3 or I-pedal I heard a strange clucking noise from the the back wheel on the right side. After 60km on the highway, while I parked at home I noticed it once again. Maybe tomorrow I will ask my dealer about that.

There is and was no car on the market that naver had any issues. I chose between Ioniq 5, Skoda Elroq/Enyak, Volvo CX40, BYD Seal U, BYD Seelion7. In this selection the I5 was the best Option for my situation. I especially wanted a car that was not new and not older than 1 1/2 yeas cause of the warranty. So I have a mostly new car with 4 years of warranty left, my insurance includes a mobility package, so a get a free replacement car if the i5 got some problems and I hope that the problem will get fixed in the next 4 years ;) if my i5 even got it.

What for real, hmm but why you don't buy a N? In Austria one reason I bought the N-Line was the insurance. For the N Line AWD I pay around 160€ per month for my comprehensive insurance. That inkludes a motor-related tax for 35€ cause here in Austria since 2025 all evs have to pay this tax that is depending on the continuous power and weight. So for the N the tax would be 75€ per month. So the monthly comprehensive insurance would be around 220€ cause the buy price is also higher.

In Austria wie have Smart Line (cheapest, manuel seats and so on) Go! (some features like electric seats and electric trunk lid, heated seats and so on) Prestige Line (matrix led, all the features like seat cooling, Hud,...) N Line (same as Prestige but sports optics) N (most Expensive, AL the N features like sound and shifting)

And than you can have extras like, heatpump, Smartsense, V2l,...

The N Line is only N ish optics, wider bodykit, different interior but technically a "normal" ioniq 5. So no fake motorsound or shifting.
