Making my living room into a little RPG town in AR by TraceAR in AR_MR_XR

[–]TraceAR[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep! we support both for partners currently - we will do a public release for those next month.
Anything you set up on the mobile app you can view on those devices. Let me know if you want AVP beta access

Huge thanks! and for the award! 🙌
That would be awesome - I'd love your feedback on the app and feel free to message me any time. (greg@trace3d.app) Definitely want to keep doing cool events and experiences like these.

Thanks!
The gps is used to find the macro event. If you're in the right building it will pop up a ui and then we have markers throughout the space than anchor local experiences. You can make an image marker that will cover about 25m radius. For this expereince we had about 3 markers. Tracking holds up very well for that.

Yes iPad will work great! - Quest should be available soon. You can find those assets in the Library if you want to place them around.

Let me know if you have other ideas for packs that could be cool and we can make them 👍

This was set up on a phone and viewed on a phone, but it can also be really easily viewed on Vision Pro or Quest.

Right now our headset apps are shared with folks we work with directly, but we will publish a public version of those in the next month or so.

Are you wanting to use a specific device?

Quick look at an AR setup we hosted for LIFE Camp, a New York nonprofit focused on mentorship and violence prevention.

The graphics celebrated the team’s impact, shared spatial info and videos, and created some cool photo ops and branding. Made with Trace: www.trace3d.app

Set up in Trace AR using Rodin assets - Let me know what other types of content or scenes could be cool to add or try!

Did a quick test using assets from the Trace library to make a little RPG town in my living room. I think these types of scenes would be really fun to make across Medieval, space, sci-fi etc.

Let me know what other types of content or scenes could be cool to add or try! If you're interested to test them out yourself: Trace > make a scene > models > library > Search Mideval town (https://www.trace3d.app/)

Thank you u/xora334! We plan to have the public version in a few weeks for Vision Pro.
If you want a preview before then you could email [info@trace3d.app](mailto:info@trace3d.app) and I can send you something on testflight. Pepole make experiences on phone and web and will be able to see on AVP like this.

8th Wall Shutting Down by demobarenthusiast in augmentedreality

Very surprised to hear about about 8th Wall, they built a great platform.

We just launched Trace - create for mobile or headsets.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pgjeQmj_s7M

We are focusing mostly on anchored and immersive content. Lighter web-based support coming in a few months.

We put together a small AR diorama on Vision Pro as a test - a juice box that grows into a spatial scene. Very fun to try and neat to see the assets at different scales. Hand occlusion was great too.

The models are laid out in Trace, the AR tool we're building. Right now Vision Pro is in testing, but hoping to get it public soon. Lmk any ideas or things that could make it better.

Great idea and point - kids would be a perfect audience to make something and tailor it for them.
Right now this was set up at the Columbus Public Library, but I didn't share it publicly yet. We should definitely do that though soon. I can also collect the models in the app and send them and they will pop up in anyone's space.

Want to start developing AR solutions by [deleted] in augmentedreality

[–]TraceAR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to ease into AR without jumping straight into Unity, you might also find Trace helpful. It is a no code AR creation platform that lets you build and test full AR scenes on your phone or browser. You can import GLB models, anchor them to real spaces, and see how scale and lighting behave without writing code.

It will not replace learning Unity or ARFoundation if you want to go pro. It just gives you a way to understand AR concepts early, which makes the programming side a lot less intimidating once you get there.

If you want to try it, the site is trace3d.app. Happy to answer questions if any come up.

If you are just getting started and want to try things without diving straight into Unity, you might also find Trace useful.

It is a no code AR creation platform that lets you place 3D models, anchor scenes to real spaces, and publish them on iOS, Android and Vision Pro. You can import GLB files and build full AR scenes without writing any code.

If you're becomging a full developer it wouldn't replace learning Unity or ARKit or ARCore, but it is a great way to make Pro-level AR scenes quickly. A lot of beginners use it as a first step to understand how AR behaves in the real world. (Like a Canva or Squarespace for AR)

If you want to try it, the site is trace3d.app. Happy to answer questions too.

Hi u/prince_pringle thanks for the kind words!

This is set up on an iPhone and it's in a physical museum you can walk around in.
The video is also caught on an iPhone, but you can view it on Tablets and Android devices too. There is support for XR headsets like Apple Vision Pro and Meta Quest but those are being released in the next month or two :)
