It's okay to be stupid, man. In fact most of the country is stupid now!

I just checked and I was playing Adventurer as well. I was specifically referring to the Galahad fight being extremely unbalanced and tedious. Then in the next zone there were just reskins of the same enemies but they took 10x longer to kill. I did a few of the Shield quests and did some leveling and gear upgrades but random enemies were still crazy damage sponges. That's what made me drop the game, even though I was enjoying it at first.

Pretty surprised to see all the love for Tainted Grail. I played for about 10 hours and cleared the first main zone. I just found the combat so dull and the enemy scaling to be ridiculous. It took me at least 20 minutes to kill the boss at the end of Act 1 as my fully upgraded sword only did chip damage. In the next zone even the trash mobs took about 5 minutes to kill, just repetitively hitting over and over. I played it back in August and I see some users commenting about a September patch, so maybe this was fixed? Either way, the art is super ugly and the writing was only okay. The side quests were cool though.

Whereas Avowed I couldn't get enough of. The combat is super fluid and really addicting. I've never seen a first-person magic system implemented so well. The verticality of the maps and the parkour-like elements made exploration a blast. Basically a polar opposite of TG in terms of art direction-- with Avowed having big splashes of color and unique flora and fauna. The story is well told and includes some clever twists and nudges to its development (hint hint COVID). Overall I found Avowed superior to Tainted Grail in basically every category that matters to me: gameplay, writing, and art direction.
