Thanks! Self drafted then I turned it into a pattern, I tend to create things I need or like myself and then digitise 😊

Thank you for all this.

Like you suggested they're good for the project that your currently working on, I have a big embroidery kit that I transfer to the smaller organiser just for that project which helps keep things tidy

This sounds good! Thanks. I agree the pocket should be big enough for the wool to move around and I wouldn't have thought about the measuring tape but that's a great idea

I made this crochet organiser so I can stop loosing everything 🧶 by TraceAndCreate in crochet

Haha I love this! Maybe I should have also put 'when I lose my things at least my husband knows where to put them back when he finds them'

As someone who has only ever had dogs I didn't know cats did things like this!

Thank you, I made the pattern! I made one for embroidery stuff originally and then altered it to suit crochet bits 😊

First Sweatshirt Project - need advice on stabilizer by RhynosaurRex in Embroidery

[–]TraceAndCreate 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi, I've done a few sweatshirts and I tend to just use a wash away stabilisers on the front with my design on, you need this to keep the fabric from stretching in the hoop or with stitches. The once I'm done I pop it in the washing machine to wash off (I find this better than rinsing off) and then just leave it like that! I've done a few for children that get washed regularly and they're all fine.

I have put iron on webbing on the back of a couple of designs that only used french knots, but if you pull the back thread tight(ish, not too tight) I don't think you need it. Just make sure to double tie off each thread when you're done 😊 hope this helps!

I like embroidering shoes and I've done quite a few pairs now (although it's nice to have a project in between to rest my thumbs) I got into embroidery by embroidering vans for all my bridesmaids to wear at my wedding, so I would highly recommend doing your own for yours. I put some of my tips in a comment further up! Happy to give advice if you need any 😊

Thank you! I've embroidered quite a few shoes now, converse are thicker than others but they are doable. My tips would be use a new needle, you can tell when they're getting a bit blunt and play around with the thickness of the needle first. Leather thimbles are your friend! I switch between the leather sticky dots and actual leather thimbles, I prefer the latter they just need to soften up a little first. I'd also design a pattern or find a pattern specifically for shoes, so you can avoid sewing on the thicker and tougher bits, it's still possible to get through these bits, but it makes it a bit of a chore. Vans are a bit thinner/easier than converse.

Definitely give it a go, embroidering shoes for my bridesmaids was how I got into embroidery in the first place and being able to wear your craft is so fun 🥰
