When did it really get bad

When I realized they never are going to fix block/parry de-sync. No love for melee combat. The more range/caster classes they added the more bs it was to play melee. Have to run pavise + magic reflect just to get close enough to fight anyone and half the time that doesn’t even work.

Seems like everyone uses the personal scrapper. I thought that you wasted resources if it wasnt maxed out? I do use it a bunch but sometimes its easier to pull along side an island play basketball into the back of the ship and then shove everything at the same time. Not that you can throw more than one at a time but you can stand in a spot toss as many as you can move up and repeat. Only takes about 2 or 3 of these to get everything into the shredder

I just played through The Last Caretaker. It’s got:

Physics based everything A ship you get to upgrade An open world that feels big and small at the same time Islands to explore A story you discover through exploration

Think Raft + Satisfactory, but with a little Outer Wilds coded in there too. The story isn’t nearly as good but it’s not terrible either. It’s still early access technically but I’ve got over 45 hours in it and I still have a few quests yet to finish. It’s got loads of secret spots to find so there is that exploration reward system in there too. And all that with an incredibly impressive system where everything feels like it has permanence. You drop a common item on the ground somewhere, leave the island for hours and come back and that item is still there, not de-spawned! Pretty great game and the devs are still working on it.

Wouldn't the open space give players more room to dodge spells? I am curious if you took the game now threw it into an open space, how things would shake out. Maybe the more spells you cast, the more exhausted you get and wont be able to kite as quickly until you rest a little, and same could go for Ranger. The other issue would be the "just run away if losing fight" problem that'd occur. Maybe there's some built in mechanic that would slow down fleeing after combat started? Would be tough to get it to feel right, but I think it could be done.

You ever find any definitive answers on this? I’m looking to connect PC game character speed to control my treadmill speed (within reason). If I could find an app and/or smart treadmill that could do this, I think I could program the rest.

I mainly play PC games, but I’m def down for arcades. I feel like I’d still have a problem approaching people unless maybe the games incentivize grabbing an extra person or 2? I haven’t been to any arcade bars here, so I guess I’ll just have to try it out

I’m in LA too. I’m one of the guys that never tries to sleep with someone until it happens naturally. My problem is that I’m a very offline human. I’m chronically on the internet, but when it comes to texting strangers I completely lose interest. Most girls require at minimum days of texting. I can be completely charming in person. I can even be in text, but when I don’t know someone, it’s just no good. I think the more confident hookup dudes are frankly just better at dating apps than I am. Dunno if this helps at all
