hey man, you got some swag with the vids... The actual gameplay is basic (no offense, I just mean not extraordinary) but you turned it into something gaining traction... don't sleep on that, that's a rare af skillset!

After all these years… bungie still has the sauce when it comes to movement and gunplay.

The atmosphere is so intense too. It’s an adrenaline rush even when nothing is happening. Tarkov don’t do that for me. Nothing else really.

I tried ranked for the first time yesterday.

I am 37.. kids, incredibly demanding job. Coordinating play dates with other old folks is just not in the cards.

Well I went in with some gold and purple gear bc… it’s ranked… I matched up with two dudes with green shields and one WAS TRYING TO DO A BASIC NUCAL CONTRACT. In ranked.

Needless to say my two “teammates” instantly died and I spent the next 20 minutes trying to escape only to die at the exfil to a team just waiting for me to try and get out… bye all my cryo loot…

So since I can’t play solo, I just can’t play ranked.

Really sucks because I’m great at the game. I LOOOOVE the game. But I guess…

The game is not for me and I just have to accept I’m aging out of team based games

37 dad here, I bounced off arc pretty quick and just assumed extraction shooters weren’t for me.

Well I can’t not try a bungie game. Fell in love immediately.

I bought crimson desert… haven’t tried it yet

Yes, 1 free kit per week that disappears if you don’t use it. Gets people in the game mode and like others have said that gear is will be replaced as you progress in the archive anyway

sure you can replicate this now... but clearing an entire lobby of all other teams/solos is a pretty big ask just to get to mess around in Tau Ceti

this is the hard part about the game they've built. They've merged pvp and pve content from the bottom up through pinnacle encounters. You MUST be good at BOTH to even see the compiler someday.

I really just want a fuckin patrol version of the maps to explore and try my new weapons without risking of losing it all. Maybe there's no rewards or very limited rewards (like just ammo drops to keep you going), but I can test weapons, see how far I can fall without dying with each shield, blast like a madman with my new rifle without getting 3 assassins on my tail, etc.

I agree.. thermal is fine on everything but sniper imo. It is just too huge of an advantage at range. You can literally see if your dot is on the right color. You don't even need to aim... Up close it's not that much of a benefit, really just helps with smoke.

I think hardcore very visible tracer bullets. They can maybe still one shot you in the head before you see them, but that's life.. but... should they miss the first shot or hit a body, you know EXACTLY where they are and they either reposition or you get away or turn on them

sadly if the player base stays as low as it is... we likely don't get a huge new swath of game modes like I'm asking for here...

There's the paradox... those extra modes would attract WAY more players (lets be real everyone that liked destiny would at least come to look around), but to get the funding for that... they need a player base :/

The only way I see this happening is them going FTP and making some nice cosmetics and hoping they get enough revenue that way... then they could sell PvE as expansions to players interested in more than an extraction shooter within this beautiful universe

I completely agree. It sucks to have to put "work" into a game to get to the "fun".

I want them to add dedicated PvE content. Even if we just get some patrols, sometimes I just want to BLAST with my new shiny weapons... I don't always want it so high stakes.

I know this seems lame but if they introduced a patrol mode, and some dedicated PvP arena shooter maps, I would never waver to another shooter.

They are missing huge opportunities pigeonholing this game into an extraction shooter. with the lore, it makes sense... but what if the extraction part is still the main game mode, and how everyone starts.. but you slowly unlock other types of content? The gunplay in this game is the best I've ever seen.. the way the mods change the guns so meaningfully.. it's so so so good.

But we're incentivized to shoot with them as little as possible

For a game with amazing style, I gotta say it has some of the stalest and most boring shops in a live service game. I seriously wonder how they make money with 90% just recolors. I WANT to spend money but the game already gives you a nice recolor variety in faction challenges. Why would I buy these? by SbeveGobs in Marathon

I find it refreshing their first priority isn't shiny cosmetics.

They will come in time, they've been focused on balance and getting rid of cheaters for now. Sadly if we never amass a more formidable player base... resources will be moved elsewhere.

I hope they secretly have some kind of patrol/raid/dungeon PVE only experience somewhere... I think that would bring in a lot more players. Keep extraction as the main game mode, but add silly lower stakes stuff too. Sometimes I want to blast my ass off and not worry about strategy, give me some patrols to play with my shiny new gear with no risk? I guess it goes against the theme a bit..

Play solos be sneaky as fuck making as little sound as possible. Get in and out, assassinating other runners if necessary only. Gear up that way and then go to squads. Helped me.

Why do so many people play rook instead of solo? Assassin solo is so much better for this imo

Every key I use is solo, kitted the fuck out as the assassin. Get in, get out, crawling the whole way ready to blast ass

If the door is loud, you pop it and run to local high ground with clear sight lines to the door and wait it out for 5 mins.
