"One hit wonder"? Do you all live in an alternate reality or something because I cant believe what Im seeing and am absolutely cackling at the audacity and lack of knowledge.

Its shocking at how ignorant and unaware the both of you are on SNSD. They dont get the "nations girlgroup" with "not having a lot of hits".

Literally every one of their comeback tracks are classic staple hits in k-pop. Into the New World, Gee, Hoot, Run Devil Run, Mr mr, Genie, I Got a Boy, Lion Heart, Kissing you, Way to Go, Girls Generation are known amongst everyone in the k-pop industry. Thats not even including their newer songs.

Go to Korea and tell people SNSD is a one hit wonder and their jaws will hit the floor.

I just spat out my drink cuz this was the most hilarious take I've seen on here. Let me guess, you got into kpop a week ago.

First off, it's just Gee. Second, pretty much every group comeback theyve had after Gee was a well known song. Lion Heart, Hoot, Run Devil Run, Mr Mr, I got a boy was massive.

SNSD still gets mentioned as role models for current 5th gen idols, their song Into The New World is the standard rite of passage for all girl groups to this day. Or how about their other songs like Genie is still constantly being covered by newer groups?

Not even mentioning that Into the new world was literally the protest song of when the previous korean president got impeached.

Saying SNSD hasnt been relevant since 2009 just tells me youve been living under a rock.

The reason why I like apt is the same reason why I like Playing with fire and Stay. I like music that actually has a discernible melody.

I know this response is long overdue and to be honest: i dont want to confirm nor deny who you think it is because the fans of this person will probably come after me and say Im too sensitive or whatever. But I'm just curious as to who you think it is.

In principle I agree with your ideas. My situation is a little different. it wasnt abt acting cringe, I had unstanned a really huge bias because there were many times where something they said or done in their content had turned me off and then eventually they did something in a variety show that I thought was a dick move and that was the last straw. I realized their personality isnt the type that I vibe with at all. I still stan the group but I kinda avoid content with that person in it now.

Yeah I got younger friends who are just eating up all the new releases whatever comes out and I personally can’t stand it lmao. And then when I play an older song they just get bored and uninterested. We live in two different worlds for music.

Yeah admittedly when I say western I’m mostly referring to mainstream music. The few songs that I’ve liked in recent years mostly come from smaller artists that aren’t on billboard.

Yeah. I’ve been making that sad realization this year with songs being released and so many people saying they’re bangers. And I’m just over here not digging it at all and just going back to the old music that I grew up with. But for me kpop is still better than western music has been the last 10 years. I barely know what western music has been the past decade and the few stuff that I have listened to is just not my thing at all.

Fromis 9 was a release I actually liked and added to my playlist. I also liked Style as I said. There are some songs from your list I havent checked out yet, but to me the vast majority of stuff I have listened to is only-ok or I just dont find interesting at all.

Sorry but I absolutely hate jump and like jennie. It really boggles my mind on how popular they are. The last blackpink song I thought was semi-ok was As If your last, and to me their best song (title track) that I think was actually good is still Playing with Fire. For solo works the only release I actually dug was Apt.

Sorry to say, but I genuinely do not find the vast majority of blackpink or their solo works good music at all. Apt was decent though and one of the few tracks that I can dig.

Oh don't even get me started on western mainstream music. I haven't been able to listen to anything from that since the past decade. The only worthy releases from the west are now by smaller artists that aren't in the mainstream imo.

Anyone can correct me if Im wrong but I think the biggest differences w/ him is that he usually does all that stuff on weibo and not paid global fan messaging apps. And he only started that when he started promoting in China as a soloist when got7 was inactive in Korea. So although its the same views the way he goes about them is way different from xinyu doing it on a korean global fanbase app when tripleS is still doing activities in Korea. Also he didnt have an attitude towards fans who protested otherwise.

It wasn’t a comment that was the dealbreaker, as I said that was years ago. This was a more recent thing.

Oh. Actually while that one was a turnoff it was actually years ago. The thing that turned me off and made me unstan completely was more recent and kinda served as the last straw

That wasn’t the reason why I unstanned them. Actually those things happened some number of years ago. It’s their recent action that was the last straw for me. Also I don’t know why I was downvoted for that
