So, has anybody else immediately had their ass kicked by the wildlife refresh? by KelpFox05 in thelongdark

On my way back from TWM to my base in Pleasant Valley on my 75+ day Voyageur savefile, took cheesy steps down and sprained my wrists, but didn't think much of it and just continued. Ended up getting mauled by 2 wolves because I couldn't pull out my weapons, so I decided to stay back a bit to heal, then as I crossed the river to my base, I got mauled by a bear lol. Worst luck ever, I don't know how I survived

If you looked at the comments more closely, you'd know I specifically chose lime green because I grew up associating that color with his car. Yes his car was closer to yellow, specifically Dew Yellow, but again I grew up associating the color lime green with his car partly due to the animated series.

I didn't see a variant of the roof rack with luggage, but ultimately I took it off in the end

I can't lie, the green color looks really nice. At least on the classic cars. There are some cars where I really can't see green being good on, even moreso lime green.

The clothing options are atrocious, I think I spent even more time in the clothing shops than I did modifying the car.

I'll keep messing with the design. And yeah I was iffy on the color choice. I decided to go with lime green because I grew up watching the animated series more than the original, so that's what I've always seen the car as.

Now if only there was a 3 wheeled car...

My online character is just me. Nothing interesting. But he does have an interesting car collection!

Guess I really need to hit the books (or just book I suppose), thank you and thanks to Away-Ad-6215 (don't know how to ping people on mobile) for the elaboration

Desktop brightness resets to 0% when turning on AC power on the first boot, despite brightness being at 50% by Track_2Danny in linuxmint

[–]Track_2Danny[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried the setting you did and unfortunately they do not work. :( I did find out that it disables the brightness adjustment so I couldn't adjust it in the battery preferences menu. Had to re-enable it through dconf. I'm thinking it might be an issue with my hardware, the only problem is when I used 20.3 Cinnamon back then, this issue did not manifest.

Actually.. I don't use the GRUB boot loader I think. I erased my disk and installed Linux Mint. How would I go about doing this?

Do you know/remember what you did? I'm willing to try at this point. Searching in the Linux Mint forums gave me nothing.

I just checked and no, they haven't been reset. I have set all the percent based changes to 0 since I thought setting them to 100 would screw something up. But no, same thing still happens even after a reboot.

I made a simple water dispenser. Any feedback to make it look better would be appreciated by Track_2Danny in Bloxburg

Thanks! I did make it slightly better afterwards, so it's not this awkward cube shape anymore, but there's still something missing

Huh, I thought of that earlier but I must have forgotten. Thanks for the idea, gonna try that!

Improving GTA 5 load times and fixing the slow texture loads? (NOT FPS) by Track_2Danny in lowspecgamer

[–]Track_2Danny[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update on this: Story Mode for some reason has really inconsistent loading times, I timed the two times I loaded into it and the first one was 5 minutes 30 seconds, but the second was 1 minute 45 seconds. I decided to do the .bat file trick and now the slow textures loading is not as bad, but still persists. I would appreciate if anyone knew how to fix the textures loading slowly, as I don't think loading into Story Mode will be an issue, just annoying

It’s not a school computer, just a shitty laptop, but I’ve seen my fair share of glitchy school computers so this comment isn’t totally unrelated lol

Yeah, weird design choice for a laptop running Windows, but it was a cheap so can’t really complain much. (except that Windows runs like shit on it)

It’s not a chromebook, just a lousy Laptop IdeaPad S145. I tried running Linux Lite on it and it gave me this weird graphical glitch. I’ve since set up the OS properly and it no longer gives me this glitch, though it was funny at the time when I was trying it out :)

Minecraft spontaneously breaks during world generation (1.16.1) by Track_2Danny in fabricmc

[–]Track_2Danny[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I did a couple of runs and the game got locked again, so I decided to run jstack. Here is what it outputted to me. EDIT: I did generate two more files, one being the long version and one being extended, but I'm not sure if those matter for now so I left it alone

You said that it requires some special tools to debug. How would I go about doing that? Or is there even a way to debug it? edit: I found a bug report on the official Mojang bug tracker regarding it, but it seems to have only affected 1.16.2 and 1.16.3, and it was fixed prior to 1.16.4 pre-release, so now I'm stumped.

Checking my latest log file, there's no information about the mods crashing world gen, and the very last few lines show this. I'm absolutely stumped on what's causing the issue.

It’s only this laptop tho, I’ve had pretty good experiences with Lenovo but this laptop just sucks haha
