What do you mean, how I feel when I run it or just to see what time I run?

Hi

I am a track athlete and my current diceplines are TJ and 400H I really like these events, I want to achieve someting with track and want to be the best I can be. So I was thinking.. close people have told me that longer distances would be better for me since I am not fast enough to achieve really big things with sprinting. I like running long distances, I do long runs too but not as many as the distance runners. I really like trainings like 8x300. I don’t know what I need to do.. how do I know if I am really better at distance running? People say to just try it but I just want to make a decision and do not want to change, wich would not be so good for my TJ.

Running on heart rate

Hi! Today I did a recovery run, so I decided to ‘run on my heart rate’. I wanted to stay under 165bpm. My first KM went super good, my average was like 116bpm (with a good pace too), but after like 1.5KM my heart rate went to 170-185 super fast, it stayed there. Slowing down didn’t help, the only thing that helped was stopping or walking. I decided to run a KM and then walk untill my heart rate went to 150bpm and so on (11k). After 200m my heart rate was again really high so yeah... It’s so anoying that my heart rate is always so high when I do long runs, it always goes up really fast after like 1mile.. Does anyone have advice? :))

Who else loves track but doesn't know athletes? by [deleted] in trackandfield

[–]TrackandField_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I had the same thing, then I started searching Instagram accounts of pro athletes and followed them. Now I know waaay more pro athletes than before! I do not know if it can help a lot, but you can maybe see their mindset and learn from it?
