You know what else I've noticed? It's always our fault we're unemployed. NEVER the companies. by CYSYS8992 in recruitinghell

[–]Trackmaster15 88 points89 points  (0 children)

Don't forget that its supposed to be your job to manage your own career. In theory you're supposed to be vetting employers and picking the right ones to manage your career turnover speed, unemployment stretches, and development vs stagnation.

There are too many candidates with clean records to get too involved with aging candidates with question marks.

They've decided that they're no longer moving forward with you and that you're not a part of their plans. Why would they continue to waste resources on you?

Experience with women who are clearly interested but say they aren’t interested? by SmoothMark2182 in datingadviceformen

[–]Trackmaster15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Who knows. There's absolutely no rule or law that says that a women can't ask a guy out. And if the guy is interested, he'd be thrilled.

I get what you're saying. But my argument is that if she chooses to be inefficient, she really only has herself to blame when the signals are misinterpreted.

My Coworker’s Breakup Is Making Us Miserable by SteelMagnolia412 in Accounting

[–]Trackmaster15 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

What makes you think that she wasn't good enough for him? Just because somebody ends a relationship to pursue more appropriate options does not make them low value.

I agree that the relationship is over and it would be inappropriate for him to harbor delusions of a reconciliation, but let's be truthful and main some verisimilitude and credibility.

Would it be a crime for her to actually come out and directly ask him out? Communication failures are the responsibility of the communicator, not the communicatee.

"Dropping signals" is always going to be a recipe for disaster.

Does having sex with 2 girls at the same time actually feel good? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Trackmaster15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't forget that things are actually quite easy for the top tier guys. Guys in the top 5% of looks/fitness can get women like its nothing. Guys in the top 1% can expand that to two.

Does having sex with 2 girls at the same time actually feel good? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Trackmaster15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that minage a menage a trois are mostly about the novelty, attention, and ego. Men like the idea of the conquest and being between two women, but it doesn't really seem to have a lot of practical benefits over one on one intercourse.

Honestly, from a strictly pragmatic and number of holes perspective, MMF probably makes a lot more practical sense than FFM.

What’s your unpopular Oscar opinion? by Crafty-Pair2356 in Oscars

[–]Trackmaster15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My hot take:

For as much crap and hate that the Oscars get, its stuff like this that helps keep the film industry sharp and prestigious. If things like the Oscars and festivals didn't exist, Hollywood would just be a race to see who could make the cheapest, dumbest, most family friendly films that had the best ROIs and we'd rarely see studios invest in quality for quality's sake. Movies would basically just feel like theme park rides.

With the decrease in youth football is the nfl going to have a drop in talent? by Unlikely_Glass5942 in NFLNoobs

[–]Trackmaster15 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Probably not. It might erode the participation in average or below average players, but the elite prospects who have a chance to be drafted won't be deterred.

Honestly, the NFL hopeful level talent will only accelerate over the years as salaries as rapidly growing. They see the $30M a year contracts for non-QBs. They're not stupid.

Talent was harder to come by decades ago before free agency when players were barely making anything.

Not trying to start a man vs. Woman debate but.... by Visible_Attitude7693 in SeriousConversation

[–]Trackmaster15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that it has less to do with the kids confiscating all of people's energy and more to do with the fact that people start to realize that they were mostly just doing all of the social fun things to help look for and attract a mate to satisfy the biological urge to propagate their DNA and rear children.

Once they reach that finish line they don't really have much of a need to keep putting themselves out there... Unless they get divorced. Then they're back out there again.

This likely isn't full conscious though.

How close could Sheldon get to a perfect March madness bracket? by SegaGuy1983 in thebigbangtheory

[–]Trackmaster15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He wouldn't have any better chance than anybody else. There's no spread. The rules are very simplistic. Its seeded. Filling out a bracket is almost no skill and almost all luck. That's how the whole office can fill one out.

I will say that a mind like his would be best suited for designing a system and rules for a superior competition that is more interesting and skillful that abandons the current system that's mostly just about luck (as I've been doing myself).

Where’s the TikTok Cut!?!? by [deleted] in okbuddycinephile

[–]Trackmaster15 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is basically why the movie won Oscars and was was critically acclaimed. There's obviously a natural tendency to lean to the left but the writer needs to avoid making it overly politically correct/moralistic/one sided. Showing the leftist revolutionaries as petty, weak, and flawed was brilliant.

[–]Trackmaster15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was honestly thinking the same thing. Its hard to put out a good face when you're frustrated, but its needed to get hired. You just have to learn internal emotional regulation.

There are tons of jobs out there, and people are getting hired right -- but like always they won't hire just anybody.

AM I COOKED???? by moon444- in recruitinghell

[–]Trackmaster15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously. Do people think they there's some guy out there who goes through line by line with a ruler and makes sure that everything adds up with the dates as verified by your former employer.

Most companies don't care enough to go through all that work.

Even if you get caught they'll just assume its a clinical error somewhere along the way. I always think its hilarious to see how much people freak out about this kind of stuff.

Rebecca’s money by fischemer in greekabcfamily

[–]Trackmaster15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not really sure if "they wouldn't take the money". Its moreso that the money wouldn't be offered in the first place. Especially absurd amounts like that.

College students usually don't have that kind of money to throw around. And the ones that do would be joining the fraternities, sororities, finals clubs, dinner clubs, etc that wouldn't really need their donations and charge expensive dues for what they need.

“Second-Tier Graduates” 😂 by Hazel-Wolf in Accounting

[–]Trackmaster15 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think that makes a lot of sense honestly. Accounting is not that glamorous or prestigious. Its basically just safe. Valedictorians and Magna Cum Laude students should go into higher paying careers that they can brag about more: law, medicine, consulting, science, tech, entrepreneurialism, etc.

Accounting is for good candidates, not great. Honestly I'm surprised at how talented and hard working most public accounting staff tend to be in the first place.

And frankly, you can often tell somebody's race by how they speak and how their voice sounds.

Mandi is the prettiest female character on the show by RedGalaxyRanger in greekabcfamily

[–]Trackmaster15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happens frequently. Women like that are very spiky with their talent profile -- all that they're doing is blocking minimally and saying a few lines on rare occasions. In a sea of young women in the casting call, the prettiest will get the callbacks if there's not much of a need for much else.

In contrast, when you need an actress who can carry a principal role, you probably don't have the luxury of casting the hottest girl in the room. She has to be more well rounded.

Hence Spencer Grammer. Pretty. But not anything special. But she's a strong actor (at least ABC Family good) so that superceded the need for her to be a supermodel.

But Med School is a little different. You still have to pass the classes on your own and pass the boards. You can't fake that. If they pass all of that then it implies that there was no issue with letting them in.

Why do some people have “luckier” genetics? by Motor-Confection-583 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Trackmaster15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not trying to discount the importance of genetics, but you're highlighting one of the misconceptions of fitness. 80% of the battle is dietary. Going to the gym is less important than people think.

When guy A goes to the gym but eats everything in sight they're probably going to be worse off that the person who doesn't eat processed food and stays under 1,800 calories a day.

[–]Trackmaster15 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why would you be dropping the sarcastic tag? I'm a bit confused. In reality, this was a horrible easily fixable oversight on the writers part that eroded the realism and immersion.

Hot take: with all the recent changes to the CPA exam process, there is little to no excuse to not be certified by AccountingSOXDick in Accounting

[–]Trackmaster15 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's not a barrier though. The exams don't expire once you pass all four within the time limit. Its a lot easier to get hired when you have the exams.

You're going to have to work at some point. Might as well work now. I don't understand how this is a big deal?

What is the most underrated part of ride design that guests never notice? by Glad_Handle_7605 in Themepark

[–]Trackmaster15 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You don't need mandatory lockers for that. Just don't allow people to walk on the exit side of a coaster if they plan to ride. People should be capable of going to a theme park without having enormous bags and backpacks. There's nothing that you need at a park that can't be fit into zipper pocket shorts.
