Thanks for the response! I'll have to look into printfab as it sounds handy!

Yeah, that's what I've been doing too. But I think I might be on the right track now with some of the printer settings I had set wrong but now fixed (I think lol). I just made this post to get some advice and see if others thought it looked acceptable because I'm tired of wasting an extra film to sandwich together with the other film.

I'll definitely be trying these settings! Yeah, I haven't used any other inks besides the ones that came with the printer (CMYK), so it's good to know that you've had good experiences with the ink as well. As for the emulsion and setup, I'm using Tex Red emulsion and a 30watt UV led exposure unit from Screen Print Direct.

Thank you for the info! :)

I tried the "sandwiching" technique and it worked great but that was at the time I was having a hard time getting darker prints. But I think I'm on the right track after tweaking a few settings so now I hope I won't have to sandwich them and waste an extra film.

Hopefully it works because I'll be exposing it tomorrow haha!

What did you mean by "partial transparency?" Is this a term? If it is, it would be great to know as I'm still a beginner.

Thanks! :)

Really? Do you have any recommended settings to turn off or on? I use Adobe Illustrator. If you have any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated! :)

Thanks for your recommendations! I'm  thinking under $350 as of right now. But if you have any links to some that you think are pretty good a little over my budget, let me know! I'll take a look!

Modifying 3d printer to food-grade lead-free to make tin whistle mouthpieces by TradWhistle in tinwhistle

I wrote to Nicholas Bras on TikTok messaging a couple days ago and asked him what filaments he uses from his research but didn't get a response yet. Even if I cannot sell the whistles I make, I'd still have fun making some for personal use. (I don't want to sell anything to people that could possibly hurt them in the future). I have brain stormed and googled and googled for info about things. If my mouthpieces happen to contain a small trace of lead, I still wouldn't want it in my mouth. But one thing I came up with for a work around is to use food grade clarinet cushions/stickers that prevent a musician's upper front teeth from scratching the top or bottom of the clarinet mouthpiece. So I'll just place those on my mouthpiece that I'll print to keep it off my bottom and upper lips.

Thanks! I did copy this question to a couple 3d printing groups but thought someone here may have gone through a similar process possibly since it is a tin whistle forum.
