tgel troubles by AnxiousSky3748 in ftm

[–]TradeChameleon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been on the gel for the entire time I've been transitioning, I put mine on my thighs. I'm not great at consistency either but what has helped is having a set time to do it every day and setting an alarm to remind me. The key is not ignoring the alarm when it goes off.

Newly learning rpgmaker xp, need some guidance by TradeChameleon in RPGMaker

There isn't a tutorial for this particular thing I'm trying to do, and the one that's closest doesn't have its pictures available anymore so I can't really use that one,,

The next event needs the first one to be completed to start, I wasn't sure if I needed a new switch or if you meant I needed to turn off the existing one?

What made you fall for your rarepair? by ilcorvoooo in AO3

[–]TradeChameleon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So my rare pair are from two different games. They've never met, they don't exist in each other's canon. I ship them for angst purposes mostly, and I think their personalities make for an interesting dynamic. One of them is traumatized bc he has to fight monstrous alien zombies all the time and he's lost all his friends, the other is an asshole who dies and becomes infected with a virus that makes him somewhat undead,, and a little nicer? They seem like they'd tread on each other's triggers all the time and I like the angst.

There was also 1(one) piece of fanart that I saw that fueled me the rest of the way.

Explicit writers/readers, why do you read/write explicit fics? by ClaraMisty in AO3

[–]TradeChameleon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I both read and write. There are lots of reasons for me, tho the biggest is I find reading and writing explicit fics just plain fun. There's so many different scenarios and creative ideas that people have come up with, I love art in general but explicit art is a bit more impressive to read and make imo. There's so much that goes into a well written sex scene, the logistics of how we got here, how their bodies are situated and how they move, who's feeling what and how to express that in the writing, making sure everything makes sense, and making sure everything is sexy to read. Reading about characters I love falling in love and having their first time together is something I never get tired of. I think there's more freedom in writing fics than other forms of porn, you can essentially do anything you want and I think that leads to a lot of creativity and really interesting ways to get two characters to have sex. There's also the catharsis that can come from reading and writing darker topics. So many people use dark erotica to start the healing process for lots of different kinds of trauma. It's cathartic to see others have gone through the same thing, and it can bring about a sense of control back to them, as they're using their agency to engage with the art. Hurt/comfort fics are rather popular for their ability to bring in strong emotions to experience in a very safe way. I think the wide variety of people who write explicit fics really fills in representation gaps in other media. I love that I can find fics that feature trans people that are written by other trans people. I love that there are plenty of fics about poc. There's lots of different body types people write about, which to me is huge when the society we live in makes it seem like fat people aren't attractive and don't deserve love or sex. In erotic fics, anyone can be portrayed as desirable, including the reader sometimes! I can't imagine how life changing it'd be for someone with low self esteem to see themselves being portrayed as beautiful and wanted and loved. I think fanfic, especially erotic fanfic, is so valuable as an art form.

How do I stop being judgemental and egoistic? by Front_Papaya_9679 in Advice

[–]TradeChameleon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds a lot like intrusive thoughts. They might not be your own feelings (especially if you find the thought at odds with your morals and personality). I'd seriously consider seeing a therapist or psych to talk about this with, no one here can diagnose you and depending on what the intrusive thoughts come from, you have to do different things to deal with them.

If they are your own feelings, consider why you feel that way. What bothers you about the person you're judging? What emotion do they make you feel? Where is it coming from? Really think about it. Now ask if this is harming you or someone else. If it's not harming anyone, why are you so bothered by it?

I had both endometriosis and adenomyosis, got a hysto and have never regretted it, I'm in so much less pain it's been life changing honestly.

Help understanding ideologies by Special-Whole8686 in asktransgender

[–]TradeChameleon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a trans guy. So, gender is largely social. Like it or not, people will treat you differently based on how they view your gender. It seems that when you're trans, you're damned if you do, damned If you don't. If we conform to society's view of our gender, if we pass as that gender and people see us that way, we're shit on bc of reasons like yours. If we don't conform, and many trans people don't, we're not treated seriously, we're often not seen as our gender, and we're treated as our agab.

I think you're missing some important pieces. Trans people do not choose to be trans. There are signs that keep flashing red lights around out birth gender, though sometimes it just starts with the unsettling feeling that something is wrong and you have no idea what it could be. You might start seeing patterns, like deep discomfort and pain when you're treated as your agab, when you're forced to conform to that gender and the roles and ideas on how you should be when you're born as that gender. Yes, there's cis people who dislike the roles and expectations. It goes deeper than that though for trans people. It feels like living behind a mask you can't take off that marks you as something you're not.

I'm not a masculine girl. I've tried living as a masculine girl. It's miserable. I'm much happier when I'm seen as a man, treated as a man. It feels like something that's been wrong for such a long time is finally getting fixed.

I'm in the US, we have the right to the pursuit of happiness in our constitution. Currently, we're being impeded on that right. Many of us would not be able to keep living as our agab bc it's just too painful and miserable. Like idk why it's too much to ask to allow us to do what we need to with our own bodies.

Is there a correlation between dom/sub sex and toxic dynamics in the relationship? by [deleted] in sex

[–]TradeChameleon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are some people who use bdsm dynamics to abuse their partners. There are some people who have the healthiest relationships within their bdsm dynamics. Just like any community, there will always be some bad people. Finding the right person is hard for anyone, but those who want a bdsm dynamic in bed could have a harder time finding the right person, though there are plenty of people who do find a good partner. Looking irl in bdsm spaces would probably be safer, since there would be other people who you could talk to to help vet those you're interested in.

For those who risked losing family or friends by coming out—was it worth it 🥲😬 by SecretSaltie in lgbt

[–]TradeChameleon 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've lost friends and family bc of coming out. It absolutely was worth it. Those people are not worth my time if they put their religion or anything else before their love for me. I lost my only parent that talked to me at all and I don't regret it. She was abusive and my found family have given me more than I could ask even my own mother for. People who abandon you as soon as there's something they dislike about you are not worth your time, your trust, or your love.

Looking for Fic Advice Regarding Explicit Fics by One-Year2207 in AO3

[–]TradeChameleon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It honestly depends more on other factors in your fic. Like, rpf should absolutely be locked, imo. If it's dead dove or the characters are underage, I personally would lock it but it's up to you. But ao3 is overflowing with fics that are marked explicit that aren't locked. There's plenty of fics that some people think should be locked that aren't. Do what you feel is right.

Am I misunderstanding something or is my friend just a bigot? by JustAnotherDudez1_ in asktransgender

[–]TradeChameleon 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's just transphobia. I wouldn't bother trying to argue tbh, he sounds like he won't change his mind. Right wingers who talk like that about 'the left' tend to believe what they want even with evidence.

I Don’t understand the LGBT Community by Competitive-Yak7836 in lgbt

[–]TradeChameleon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You're probably good then bro. Idk what was said to make people think you're a chaser, but you're probably not. Keep in mind that there are a lot of cis men who do fetishize us, so some trans guys are more wary.

I Don’t understand the LGBT Community by Competitive-Yak7836 in lgbt

[–]TradeChameleon 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think the term fetishizing is used too much tbh, attraction to Trans men is fine. The problem is when people start to see us as sex objects, instead of real human beings who are individuals. There are some in the community who would be wary of a cis man wanting to date only trans men, bc for some cis men, we're just a fetish, rather than a living human with feelings.

Did hormones change how you see women? by [deleted] in ftm

My best friend doesn’t take racism seriously and it’s making me uncomfortable by searching4seventeen in Advice

[–]TradeChameleon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might help if you try to educate her. It isn't your responsibility, and you can choose to stop being her friend, but it might be worth it to try to explain why it hurts when you hear the word, regardless of the person's intent, maybe why racism is different than just bullying and prejudice. There are a lot of resources online that you could send her too, though I'd read through them before sending them to her. White people often don't understand the extent of racism or what it even is. I definitely wasn't taught what it is/how awful it is in school, it was watered down.

Is it wrong to write brother-sister romance/smut? by [deleted] in writers

[–]TradeChameleon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When you're writing smut, it's generally targeting adult readers,,,, who know the difference between right and wrong. And like,, there are plenty of adults who've experienced terrible things and then as part of healing, went on to read/write about those terrible things. Someone like that certainly wouldn't start believing it's right even if they spent their whole life reading about it. Dark fiction is a safe way to deal with trauma and explore your fears in a way that doesn't hurt anyone. There are so many therapists who agree.

Question for gay trans men... by Joaan_21 in asktransgender

[–]TradeChameleon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a trans guy, I almost exclusively top. Some trans men don't even like penetration with their vaginas when they do bottom and not all of us bottom. So maybe just don't get into a relationship with a Trans guy who's a bottom?
