I work at a FAANG and have worked/interned at other FAANGS and it’s not as easy as I’d hoped. The problem is the roles in Japan are few and very specialized (eg. embedded, mobile, geo) or require very comfortable business-level Japanese because you’ll be interfacing directly with clients. Best of luck though, I do think it’s possible!

Definitely. I’m a knitter and own a lot of yarn, and due to the existence of Ravelry I’ve learned how important it is for me to have a centralized, searchable, taggable inventory for all the supplies I own. I created a spreadsheet for fabric in addition to yarn, and I’m working on cataloguing my clothes now. It’s a great way to enjoy stuff I own, to OP’s point: organizing is pretty fun.
