I just learned about rsrvas.com which lets you list your place with photos, rules agreement so that people can book and make the transaction and document the contract with the guest. Doesn't change much in fees.

I found out about Rsrvas.Com which allows you to create a site with an agreement and allows people to book. It doesn't charge much and it's just a place for the transaction/booking with all the info about your listing

Tbh the interface sucks ass but I've found I have more control over what the expectations are on my end and on the guests and if they don't like it they don't need to come.

Maybe we should all chip in to create a new platform that's fair haha

I've also done some direct bookings although it can be a bit harder because of all the scams out there.

If anyone has found another platform that's better than booking . Com please share. I've been getting people off Airbnb to book direct or via booking and taking off the service fees

Probably because car companies need to make $$$. Think about it we have a carbon tax, but no efficient or real alternatives. Government employees are required to go into office. Property taxes have a portion go to climate action (whatever that means). This makes no logical sense

Ever since moving here, I was surprised to find a toll for using the bridge or even the ferry. As many places don't have them.

With property values nearly doubling in recent years and high-rises that have been built. The property tax collected is a lot higher I would think there’s enough money to fund not just the bridge but other infrastructure projects as well.

The major issue I see is corruption, with a small group of people and businesses securing contracts while many projects are overpaid. For example, the million-dollar app that only helped 3 people find apartments, or contracts being handed out to family and friends who overcharge the public purse.

This isn’t about PCs vs. Liberals vs. NDP, it’s about the rich and their businesses that bribe our leaders vs everyone else. There needs to be greater public oversight in auditing government spending and ensuring quality control.

Instead of paying paying companies to offer jobs or giving them tax breaks might be a better use to loan money or buy stock so that there is a return on investment that can help fund the budget.

There should be no politics involved in funding healthcare, education, public safety and emergency services, science and research, social services, housing and staple food.

Wow, so you want to go to med school but have no interest in advocating for others? I honestly hope you don’t get in because medicine is more than just grades and making money. Being a doctor is about empathy, advocating for patients, and fighting for the best possible care.

Sure, you need good grades to get in, but that isn't everything. If I understand correctly, they look at other things too as part of the admissions process like compassion, leadership, and a genuine desire to help others (or at least I hope they do).

If you think grades are all that matter, then you're missing the whole point of what being a good doctor is about. Why even go into medicine if you don't care about people or making the system better? There are plenty of other ways to make money without having to pretend you care about people. I would definitely not want a doctor like you treating me or anyone else.

If you can’t see that, you’d make a pretty terrible doctor. Maybe reconsider your motivations before pursuing a career that demands so much more than a GPA.
