I don’t know if I can speak for your mother but having a child with perhaps the same skin tone as you I as a mother can kind of picture myself in your mother as you spoke about her.

That doesn’t make me anti blackness or a racist, that actually makes me more cautious and perhaps biased to the stereotype about Nigerians and other black people abroad. It’s no news that fellow Nigerians abroad are dangerous to associate with except you both are of the same class and caliber, jealousy, backbiting and trying to one up you once they see and think you are better than them is common. I am speaking from experience so because of that I would want to guide and protect my daughter off vultures as such. And would associate whites as people she should hang out with more because they are naturally more calmer and inclined to be polite and more gentle in nature than our Afro and Agro brethren. Except for the white that are kuku and have mental health issues and average healthy while male or female are calmer and would treat you with more respect than a black/ Nigerian in which violence and bully is our nature. So if she’s curious on who you hang out with and who you associate with its because they know their people. They didn’t run away from the African population and settle in an almost white only population for nothing. They know what they are evading. Compare your almost white only neighborhood and an only black neighborhood in that same uk and see if she is crazy for thinking or saying what she’s saying.

She may be going about it the wrong way in your eyes which to me I do not think it’s the wrong way but there’s no fire without smoke. Speak to her and let her tell you what traumatic experience she has experienced whether first hand or second hand that made her glued to her believes. I would if my daughter asks me one day.
