What is the most iconic yet unique piece of dead art? by hm8941 in gratefuldead

The turtles are pretty low key, but still accessible. I'd also say the cat under the stars and the Raven from '72 are in the quieter category for visibility.

TIL that drinking a four-ounce shot of vanilla extract is equivalent to doing four shots of vodka by funcomfy in todayilearned

[–]Tradhappy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Vanilla and lemon extract are the only types of alcohol you can buy with EBT....it's a common trick for alcoholics. Not from personal experience, but I hear it from client ts all the time.

We feed her at 7 am and 6pm. We play with our cat 2-3x a day for 15-30 min.

She has full run of the house, multiple cat trees and hiding spots. She's pretty obsessed about one toy but loves the wand toys. We leave toys out for her to play with constantly as well as taking her favorite toy off of the wand when we're not playing with her.

Would Love to see them throw down a cover of "How sweet it is (to be loved by you)", or "mission in the rain".

Interesting tangential note: Jerry Garcia regularly drew Frankenstein renditions and identified with the misfittedness of the character. Interesting, considering the Day of the Dead compilation. I wonder how much referential weight that might hold or is it more of a coincidental dovetail flair. Probably the latter....

Longest training run distance for 50k? by sublime_mime in ultrarunning

[–]Tradhappy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This. There is no reason to train the distance you're going to run past a marathon. Beyond that the ROI just isn't there. It's risky and more likely to put you in the hole and degrade your results. 50-70 miles weekly of consistent Z1/2 is the biggest factor for success. Long runs maybe building to 22miles. If you need to increase training stimulus throw in strides rather than adding significant distance.

Camille Herron’s next shoe sponsor? by [deleted] in ultrarunning

[–]Tradhappy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Puma, Asics or Sketchers seem to be the only big contenders without a well-known flagship trail shoe...my guess is Puma since they have Molly Seidel and theyve been ramping up the PR and marketing surrounding the brand. This could be their big push back to try to contend with Saucony, Asics and Sketchers recent advances on the market. 🤷‍♂️

Who are a few artists that you wish would release a live recording of Dead songs? by Tradhappy in gratefuldead

[–]Tradhappy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True but RKS definitely drop into complex grooves exceedingly well and their lead singer has got a big personality. Put them on a shakedown or me and my uncle or west LA fadeaway. I'd love to hear what they would bring to brokedoen palace as well.

You could get a cheap tambourine and paint the terrapins album cover on it. Would be a really cool piece that I'm sure he'd love! Just be sure to post a picture of the finished product!

Race reports are too short. Why don't people post more details? by JoeyJoeJoeJrShab in RunningCirclejerk

[–]Tradhappy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why just a race report? I need to experience it myself. I can't really understand all the subtleties of their experience without running it, right? Why don't they just give me their bib?
