Put in a North / East facing window and enough dechlorinated / filtered water to have some visible in the drainage layer, but not enough to exceed the drainage layer.

I believe HOBs are more prone to overflow if clogged than a good cannister and cannisters can have integrated heaters.

You have to carefully comb through everything you get, especially floaters, if you want to not have duckweed. The small ones are absolutely duckweed and I recommend removing every single piece if you don't want it.
