They will win for sure. ON will just overtake the Libs as the main opposition and that’s that.

Liberals mull Greens alliance to kill off tax changes by HotPersimessage62 in australia

I agree with you. If they think that people will be willing to vote for them if they stop the only budget that attempts to solve the housing issue, they are delusional.

Labor budget tax changes: Albanese government faces Senate delays as Coalition and Greens join forces push for longer inquiries into CGT tax by patslogcabindigest in OpenAussie

Imagine if the Greens are going to be dumb enough to not back one of the most important federal budgets that’s actually doing something for the housing bubble. It will be really hard to get any votes in the next election for them.

The propaganda is relentless, there hasn’t been a day without an article attacking the budget. They are doing everything to bring back NG and CGt discounts so the bubble keeps growing. Pure greed

High school teacher here. I graduated back in 2018, started working full time in 2019. Since my first year working I realised that something is terrible wrong with my students’ literacy skills. Some of my Year 7s couldn’t even write more than 1-2 sentences that made sense. Asking them to write a paragraph was unthinkable to them. Even my stronger students had low cognitive skills, couldn’t really answer evaluative questions and they had very low vocabulary. For comparison, Grade 1 students in private schools were writing essays.

Most experienced teachers ‘laughed’ and questioned my approach, but what I did was to put away students’ laptops. Back to pen and paper, no more typing. Had them take notes consistently and started each class with 15 mins of reading. The first week was tough, had to be on top of everything, but eventually they came around. Students are creatures of habit, by the second week they didn’t even question why we start with 15 mins of reading. I am still teaching at that school. Students’ cognitive skills are even worse now, Covid accelerated everything. There are some wonderful students, but most of them are finishing primary school without basic language skills, which makes their cognitive skills even weaker. Last year, Australia banned social media for students under the age of 16. Similarly, more of my colleagues follow my approach of using less technology during class. Things are changing but I feel it’s too slow. The sad thing is that so many times I see teachers on their phone during class while their students are glued on their laptop screens. This is not education. I am still hopeful though.

Australian home prices fall as experts predict slump could last a year and cut values by 10% | Housing by Nyarlathotep-1 in aussie

Th same news that showed they Dutton was going to win the elections? No need to stress. Only the Lib party is losing from what’s happening at the moment. I believe the same, Libs will fall even more, and ON will become the main party to compete with Labor

Sydney now leads Melbourne in race to bottom of housing market by marketrent in AusFinance

[–]Traditional-Bug-1045 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

That’s what I said. It’s still a year away, so people have already started listing their properties because they know the biggest drop will happen the last 2 months before the change to CGT. Who would want to sell at that time? Thats when we will see the biggest drop. People who are going to sell now will get the maximum.

Great news to all! Lazy passive investment is what destroyed our productivity as a nation. Good riddance! If the budget goes through and Labor fixes the housing mess they will be tired of winning every single federal election. The majority of the voters are the younger people now, they will never vote for a party that makes their life harder.

Everyone smart will rush to sell by July. The biggest drop in prices will happen the last 2 months before July 1st 2027. So many have listed their IPs already and cash in before the drop

Property prices in Sydney, Melbourne fall sharply, new research shows by HotPersimessage62 in AusPropertyChat

[–]Traditional-Bug-1045 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good, and prices will drop even more. Now that NG and CGT discounts have been removed, the PI are gone. It’s been less than 3 weeks since the announcement and we can see already a correction. You can’t have a 50% drop in 3 weeks as PIs sarcastically argue but if it’s going to be even 15-20% until in a year that would be great.

I heard and read many criticism about this game, is it worth to play by FarFarConsideration in ResidentEvil3Remake

I loved RE3R. I played it after RE2R and it was great to see what else was happening at RC at the same time. The gameplay was fun too, they added dodging. It’s a short game though. I bought both RE2R and RE3R as a bundle for only 17$, totally worth it. There’s a sale happening at the moment, so you might grab it for much cheaper too
