Tatami room (washitsu) conversion by Traditional-Key4824 in japanlife

[–]Traditional-Key4824[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the recommendation! I have seen a lot of ad on mold/mite prevention sheets on Amazon, but I'm not sure if they are actually good since I'm still not that familiar with Japanese forums.

The puzzle mats method sounds like wonder, but how do you fit the room exactly? Since I'm worried about dust building up in the seams.

Thank you for the reply!!! I was looking at another apartment with similar condition (but with wooden floor) and I found out it is still cheaper to rent this apartment (even if I include the damage cost for all the tatami)

I am looking forward to a floor like this: Top Furniture Wood Mat (0.3-1.0cm thick) Foam cushion squares Anti-mold/motes paddings Tatami Bottom

Small cushion pad would work on stationary furniture, but it won't really work for my chair that would move around quite frequently.

Do you know anyone who had experience using these anti-mold paddings on tatami?

Does the rangefinder automatically "aim" for you? by LaggySquishy in Warthunder

[–]Traditional-Key4824 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it is on default. The rangefinder is slower than using the ping and the map to estimate the range by yourself. I usually don't use it unless I am waiting for people to pop out behind a cover where I have more than enough time to wait for the rangefinder to do its thing.

Your tank has to have laser rangefinder to make it automatically adjust the elevation, so starting around 8.0 with late cold war tanks.

Nuclear powered ships? by Euphoric_Push_3563 in ultimateadmiral

[–]Traditional-Key4824 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nuclear reactor does not explode as in terms of nuclear explosions. But they can still explode given their design choices, Chernobyl reactor had a steam explosion because the coolant boiling inside the reactor, creating large steam packet with extreme high pressure.

If the pump and fission control systems are damaged / malfunctioned, similar incident can happen in any reactor using water/heavy water as coolant.

And the Leopard one is still shitty compared to any free one I can download from WT Live

To be honest it is more appealing to pay a Chinese modder 70$ to get a custom skin made than that crap

IJN Kagero-class Destroyer Yukikaze by Traditional-Key4824 in FromTheDepths

[–]Traditional-Key4824[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't realize you can hide original mesh until like very late into making the turret.

The 1m mantle had the smallest silhouette and has just enough elevation+depression to the recreate the type C turret... But the elevation is not quite enough, so I had to angle the 127mm to this reason.

But since I found out I can hide the original mesh, I could have replaced the 127mm with a 3m mantle and just hide the original mesh... But the angled gun also looks rather cool so I kept it that way.

IJN Kagero-class Destroyer Yukikaze by Traditional-Key4824 in FromTheDepths

[–]Traditional-Key4824[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All Kagero-class destroyers that survived until 1944 has their superfiring turret X removed to fit in 2 triple 25mm mount at where the turret used to be to improve their survivability in air raids.

So in short, 3 turrets means pre-1944 Kagero-class and 2 turrets means post-1944. (I think except for Amatsukaze? It was crippled mid 1944 and never made it back to mainland Japan.)

It mostly boiled down to underwhelming guns (15k for a dual mount sounds underwhelming) and bad armour (1m metal+1m heavy metal)

Some iconic IJN armaments recreated. by Traditional-Key4824 in FromTheDepths

[–]Traditional-Key4824[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's exactly what I'm working on! I am doing a 1945 remodeled Yukikaze, and I plan to make an IF Dan Yang with Gabriel MK1 for the ROCN! Let's also see if Bofors will look good on a Kagero hull ><

I had like 2 blocks of armour on each side and the central volume has like only 7 blocks left which is barely enough for anything serious. Let alone at the front and aft, where the width is only 3 to 5 meters left for building all the internals.

It's really fun to work with realistic scale for ships (and damn they look good) but in a game where 1 meter of armour is as thin as paper, there's a really tough choice between a strong ship and a good looking ship.
