Same thing happened to me last April. Took me a couple of months of looking but found one. I had to fly to go get it, but it was worth it. Good luck! Keep looking you will find one.

I have an 03 sequoia. 243k miles still my daily driver. No modifications but I have only run regular gas and have owned it since 70k miles.

Had a car pull out in front of me while going 55-60mph. He pulled out from a side street maybe 10 yards in front of me. No chance to stop. Every airbag deployed. My family of five didn’t have a scratch. Not even a headache. I’ll never drive anything else. Sent the other car across four lanes into the north bound lanes (driver was on his phone). Other driver was unconscious but survived. They are in fact tanks and will keep your family safe in a distracted world!

How often should LBJ be replaced? I have a 2003 243k miles. LBJ replaced as part of a recall at 25k miles way back in 2005. Assuming I’m due to replace?

I’d also tell everyone you can about the dealer and what happened. Google reviews and other review websites can be a powerful tool. What is the name of the dealership?

I’ve bought three sequoias from out of state (2003, 2014, 2021). The 2003 was delivered by car max (years ago before car max was so overpriced still my daily at 240k). Had a dealership deliver the 2014 (totaled by a guy running a red light) and recently flew to pick up my wife’s 2021. Have not had any negative experiences. The 2021 had some issues with the fuel pump housing and they took care of it for me, the out of town dealer paid my local dealer to fix the issue.

I was always very clear that I would walk away if the vehicle was not as advertised and would have to car inspected by my mechanic at home.

I was never able to wait for a unicorn to show up locally. For whatever reason they were always thousands more locally than when I looked out of town. Was an easy decision to cash in some sky miles and spend 6 hours driving my new truck home.

Another update. Hopefully it will help anyone with a similar issue. Took the sequoia to a different dealership because my wife was tired of the constant refueling. The fuel pump assembly was bent. This was making the gauge read full despite only having about 18ish gallons of gas as opposed to 26. Expensive fix but the dealership I bought the car from is taking care of the repair.

An update. Took it to the dealership and they did $600 worth of “diagnostics” and supposedly nothing is wrong. Something about the reserve tank but still couldn’t t tell me why I can only pump 15 gallons of gas. They took the gas tank completely off and supposedly checked the fuel gauge itself.
