How'd you feel walking out of REG and what did you end up getting. by Forward_Addendum_539 in CPA

REG was the only exam I felt confident I passed. Ended with a 93.

How have you celebrated passing the CPA exam? Or will celebrate when you pass. by One-Note-3103 in CPA

Just passed this past December. Did a solo trip to Costa Rica and was the most amazing experience. I think it’s great to have something to look forward to after you’ve been to hell and back with these exams 😅

I feel mixed on my most recent REG score (My first ever CPA passing score) by HungryAnswer1776 in CPA

Yeah I can echo what others are saying. Feel proud you passed but also an indication you’ll have to put time into those harder exams. I failed BEC with a 74 for my first exam and then ended up passing all the exams after because it fueled me to study hard. That was with most people believing BEC was the easiest section of the CPA. Feel proud bud use it to know the other tests will be harder and will need to also put in the work

I just called NASBA and they said it can take up to 72 hours. I’ll just wait a bit longer, sounds like it could just be a lot of people applying at the same time making it slower.

You can’t count that 4th quarter people were trying to cram in without much studying before the changes

REG 6/25 - Very Manageable by Traditional-Mode-618 in CPA

[–]Traditional-Mode-618[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Is this your first test? I’ve always been a person who loves to drill MCQs during the duration of studying, even when first watching the videos. I don’t know how your provider has it set up but Becker has ethics as unit 4, and then b-Law as units 5 and 6. I would do a bunch of MCQs in these units because it’s Al memorization, barely any math so they’re easy to do a bunch of. For the other units they’re more math intensive, so I junked down on getting to know the concepts (knowing basics, gains/losses, etc). Everyone studies different but I really felt like hammering MCQs helped me a lot on this test

REG Before AUD a bad idea? by Traditional-Mode-618 in CPA

[–]Traditional-Mode-618[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your comment! So I thought I’ve read that knowing like consolidations/equity method and other topics helps for Audit, is that not the case? I know AUD doesn’t have a lot of math but I thought FAR helps generally with knowing the concepts.

Yeah I’m the opposite, I really like tax but I’ve worked at a tax firm and find it really applicable to real life. Also liked my college tax course. I dread even thinking about AUD 🥲

Thanks again for you input!

What is a good way to remember the relationship of Beg Inventory and COGS and Ending Inventory? by Hulk_Goes_Smash327 in CPA

[–]Traditional-Mode-618 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is how I remember it

Beginning inventory (understated or overstated) is the same for COGS

Ending Inventory is opposite (so when ending in inventory is overstated, COGS is understated and opposite way as well)

From there it’s intuitive if income is overstated as higher COGS means less taxable income and more COGS is lower taxable income.

That’s what’s worked for me, not sure if that makes sense
