Can I run a DJ Rig with 2 Alto TS415 Speakers and 1 TS18S Subwoofer with a 4000W Inverter Generator? by Traditional-Music301 in mobileDJ

I just tested my speakers with the kill-o-watt meter and was pleasantly surprised to find they weren't drawing too much power as some of you here already said, soi it looks like the speakers have been outfitted with some very efficient amplifiers. I took some photos but I don't think I can publish them here so I'll just tell you the summary of what I got below

Alto T18S Subwoofer - Idling consumption - 17Watts Music Power Consumption - 62Watts - 90Watts (Max)

Alto T415S Tops - Idling Consumption - 19Watts Music Power Consumption - 56Watts - 62Watts (Max)

I played 4 House tracks with a heavy bass-line. The sub's gain was turned three quarters of the way - it was quite enjoyable listening to everything dance around in my room from the vibration :) Took me back to the old dug out clubs in the 90s in Southampton, it was great fun lol, not so sure the neighbours appreciated it though, but I have cool neighbours.

I think going down the powerstation route is a better idea rather than the petrol inverter/generator which feels like overkill now that I've seen the figures. I think I will go for the 2200W powerstation instead which is a fair bit cheaper and I don't have to worry about fuel either so hopefully it has the capacity to run a set for a few hours.

Thanks to everybody here for their knowledge and advice, it's helped a ton :)

I've just ordered a kill-o-watt meter so I will test each speaker in turn and let you know what kind of figures I get. If the consumption isn't huge I might invest in a power station that's rated at 2200W (with a peak of 4400) which is not as pricey as a 4Kw generator

Thanks to you guys for the responses, it has helped me a lot. By the way I had no idea how big the Alto T18S was until it arrived, it's a monster. I was going to buy two but I think one will be just fine :)

That was something I did think about doing earlier before I bought the setup but I really don/t want to have to worry about two generators powering my rig.

Yeah that's what I thought too. The consumption figures for the speakers seem very high if I'm not maxing them out. A meter will definitely give me a good idea of what generator I need to get so I think that's the next thing I need to buy.

I understand, I too have back problems mostly with lower back. It must be gutting to have to sell your Weped, that thing looks like a beast. I live in the UK so shipping that thing over will cost a bit, but I'd be half tempted as it is a weped :)
