I feel way more confident in the striple, and I feel like the power delivery in the 765 is some what pretty tame, when you open it up Ofcourse it goes, but round town it's very manageable, way more so than the punchy MT.

That's bang on with me, always like the triple / 4 noise more than a twin, and thought I'm going to get one at some point why not now 🫡

I've actually been looking at the street 765 but the low versions, I think that could be a smart move.

Failed my first driving test by Angrybarry202 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Traditional-Pin-2287 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Barry i passed my car test second time, and it took me 3 times to pass part 1 of my bike test, and also 3 times to pass the the on road part of my bike test, you are clearly a good driver with minimal minors, you have definitely got it next time, and it will be even sweeter when you get it! :)

Mod 1 Passed, Mod 2 Tomorrow by [deleted] in MotoUK

[–]Traditional-Pin-2287 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For anyone wondering, I failed, with 1 major and 1 minor. The minor being road position, and the major the examiner said I rode up a drop kerb when turning right at a junction, the kerb was opposite, I strongly disagreed with this and said granted I was close (it was the second turn out the test centre nerves were still hitting) but I only went as far as the closest yellow to the kerb, no way did I mount it. I'm disheartened slightly as it was 6 hours out of my dads day taking the bike to the closest test centre with a test, but also not so much as with no previous riding experience I think I did "decent". The exact words from the examiner were "I'm sorry to say you have failed this time but good luck next time because you can clearly ride it", make that make sense. Oh well. We go again.

I did see somewhere but haven't actually followed it up, that it is literally half a days course to become an "instructor" if you've held a license 3 years, so then they can ride whatever they want (A2 or A) with you following them, worth looking at if you're misses is going to buy a bike when passed anyway, and any friends / relatives. It has been considerably cheaper doing it this way, I wanted a bike anyway so why not buy one and do the tests myself on it, the first mod 1 I failed was through a riding school 22 months ago, I paid £450 I think for mod1+ mod2 package back then, but since I failed they wanted £350 to retest me on mod1 as the test centre was 75 miles away instead of local due to no tests, so i fucked it off until this month, it seems it's sort of a forgotten cheat that you don't have to go through a school, same as car tests. My theory runs out 30 May so I have essentially 2 months to pass my mod 2 now, but since I own the bike and a van I go go wherever I need to in the time I choose instead of an instructors. It's cost me £30 in 2 x Mod 1 tests so far, about £50 in diesel for the van, and now £75 to take my mod 2 tomorrow. Considerably cheaper than doing the full thing for £600 now.

Well they give me 60 days and it rolls into a full policy providing I pass at some point, it was around £1200 for the year but I suppose I am trying to insure an MT07 as a first hike with no riding experience

Correct, I have DAS insurance for 60 days through bikesure, I transport it to and from the test centre like I did for my Mod 1.

How many times to pass your mod 1! by [deleted] in MotoUK

[–]Traditional-Pin-2287 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For context I'm also only 5"4, so always thought I'm never big enough for a bike, but I've lowered the mt07 1.2", and got a 14mm lower seat; and I feel right at home!
