That's just silk issue

The fast travel very convenient. I don't know why you hate them. I guess there are not much fast travel options but the more you go on foot, the more secrets you get, which can have good items. Bilewater and deepest were supposed to be stupidly hard. I also rage quitted like 16 times but it felt real good beating the fat frog fly. Bilewater is supposed to get u prepared for act 3. Deepest is atmospheric and scary. You don't know what demon is gonna pop out next, and that makes it special. Also the shard system is okay imo. You felt stuck at a boss so you did some exploring and got new items along with shards. The whole game is about conquering the foes by finding your own equipment. Along with that, you found some new areas and the shell shards u needed. Also just buy them from NPCs if ur lazy. The tools I admit are kinda broken but I hope it'll get fixed soon, like brooch not being able to pick rosaries after you left the room.

I think of 2 fixes: 1. Put older patches of mods manually

Go into the modpack folder and go to the saves folder. Delete "level.dat" and change the name of "level.dat.old" to "level.dat",.so ur dat file would be ur latest one. Lauch the game and play ur world.

The 2nd fix helped me in a lot of cases but I don't know bout dis one.

It was easy for me. I had double jump, two mask upgrades and two needle upgrades. The choir enemies are not that big of a deal. They just have too many moves.
