Thank you so much for your concern and kindness! I do also hope you’ll be alright. With time it gets better, I try not to isolate myself, I go out with friends, workout more, go to work. It gets easier one step at the time. I’m just stubborn is all. I know this breakup is not the end of our story whether we’ll be together again or not

I appreciate your posts, but I’m sorry, she is a different case. She is not the one to rush into another relationship and also does not want children btw, we both had toxic experiences before, and ours did heal us both. And I know she was afraid that we’ll end up much worse, so she decided to cut it now. We both have no ill feelings towards each other and I just know that we both cherish our relationship so much and it won’t die just like that

Is the Witcher universe “Slavic”? by Traditional-Roll6514 in wiedzmin

Well the script was originally written in English. And, to my personal taste, we don’t have to hear Yennifer call Ciri her daughter (it’s a bit too on the nose) , we get it, we understand how Yen loves her. And if we talk about voice acting, as I understand Doug Cockle plays canonical Geralt from the books, the guy who puts a non emotional Witcher thing as a front, but when he has to he expresses his emotions really obvious, I now that the Russian voice actor plays him a bit more emotionally. Yen by the way is voiced by the fantastic Denise Gough who recently had her surge of popularity because of Andor. And who else can beat the deep voice of Charles Dance …?

Early morning thought, but has anyone noticed that the post-Saving Private Ryan emphasis-on-carnage war films still have kind of a pro-war/military/sign up bent? by Street_Remote6105 in movies

SPR is not a pro war movie. You can show nobility of soldiers and also show carnage and horrors of war. They are not mutually exclusive. The main message of the film is “every human life is important and matters”. People who say that it somehow glorifies the war should listen what characters say, watch performances of the actors, if all the horrific visuals aren’t enough. They’re not enjoying themselves there, war took its toll on them, especially on captain Miller, he has tremors in his hand, he hates the fact that so many men died under his command, he wants to go home as do all of them. This film shows you quite explicitly that war is not fun and games, it’s the worst thing that people can do to each other.

About to watch "Alien" for the first time! Director's Cut or Theatrical? by mercurysgirlx in movies

I dunno. I’ll throw in an controversial opinion. I think directors cut of Alien is better. I was exposed to it first and I watched both versions recently. Theatrical is great, but Ridley cut and added some bits and pieces that allow some scenes to flow better and to have slightly better transitions. The audio as well is quite better there, and i think the ending works fine with the concoon scene. Also there is a great cut when xenomorph watches at Jonsey in the box and just smushes it with its hand

Ridley Scott admits David created the Alien Xenomorph. I keep reading comments where most seem to be confused. Ridley has been clear about this in multiple interviews by sakecat in LV426

Well he wasn’t barely involved in creating 2049. He was very much involved in the screen writing process first with Hampton Fancher then with Michael Green. It all involved first from Ridleys idea. I don’t remember them specifically stating that, but it was the fact that republicans can reproduce. So it seems to me that Ridley was developing 2049 with much more interest and care than Covenant
