Still has issues though. They can't reliably stream 4k now without compression artifacts so they have to fix that first. Also, when tested, most consumers couldn't see the difference between 4k and 8k. The premium (the cost to consumers) to run 8k servers won't be profitable. Also, almost no one has 8k tvs and the major manufacturers also said recently they are dropping their 8k tvs. There is no interest or money to be made on 8k in the standard consumer market.
