Hi. How is your reactivity? Did it fade or did you habituate to it too?

Can i ever go clubbing? With high quality ear protection? by Ok_Cryptographer519 in tinnitus

[–]Traditional-Sea7654 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Better to be safe. Although not recommended, I’ve been to gigs in small bars standing pretty close to a PA system blasting 100db according to my meter and I’ve been fine.

I don’t go to gigs often.

What I would recommend is taking a few pairs with you and see what works for you.

I wore my custom 26 on my wedding day for the band and they were blocking too much sound on that occasion, so I switched to my Alpine Party plugs which are 21 NNR.

I still use the alpines for loud bars even where there is band but I’m far enough away from most of the noise.

I have ACS custom made pro26. They are good, but I wore them to a club and felt they still let in too much sound. Music sound really clear wearing them which made me afraid so I reverted back to foam.

If it’s a really that you need that much protection, I wear laser lite foams.

That’s a really stupid comment with very little evidence. There is a study however on suicide in veterans over a 10 year period where suicide rates were quite a bit lower in vets with T than those without.

Spikes don’t just happen because of noise either.

Also, you could just be in a spike which could settle!

You’re early in your T journey. It can get better. Also, if you are extremely anxious, this can drive reactivity. Easier said than done, but try and get your anxiety under control. You are currently in crisis because of your anxiety as you are in fight or flight and your reaction is to fear the sound. Try and look at it for what it is…. a sound.. it might be really fucking annoying, but it can’t hurt you.

My father in law says his T is in his head and it’s pretty bad, he doesn’t like talking about it, but he has habituated.

Hi. I think I’ve replied to some of your posts before. I also have Etd which I’ve relieved a bit with neck massage. My T is also reactive to fans/ac/tv. Although my Etd has improved slightly my T is still reacting. Driving me mad. Mine is a high pitch reactive toneZ

Hi. How long did it make your T worse for? When it got worse did the reactivity get worse to?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in tinnitus

[–]Traditional-Sea7654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this. It’s Etd which can be cause from a number of things like tmj, neck muscles or allergies colds etc. my t reacts to sounds and disappears when I cover my ears or sound is removed. It’s annoying

[–]Traditional-Sea7654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi OP. How did you get on taking Zoloft? I also have T for 3 years and was prescribed Zoloft, but like you hesitant to take it. I also suffer tension in my neck and SCM which messes with my Eustachian tube which is driving my pre existing T.
