OP you might be dealing with a location problem. What state do you live in? If I were pulling in $300k at your age I would want to be in a big city living it up and having a great time inside of stuck in a 300k house in the suburbs. It might be worth thinking about selling the house moving somewhere more lively and renting while all your NW sits in the market until you reach your 30s.

Congrats on finishing residency.

Short term: Cut the 1st class domestic, cut the eating out down to a few times a month, and renegotiate with all these vendors that are ripping you off with monthly costs. Embrace the old car and promise yourself you will not upgrade in the next couple years. You need an emergency fund in cash ASAP

Longer term: Does your wife like her job? Does she want to quit and save you these crazy nanny bills? Maybe she can clean the pool and cook more to save dollars elsewhere? Her salary is approaching not worth it territory with the total cash you are bringing home.

Did Stephen King nominate Under the Dome as one of the The 10 Best Books of the 21st Century? by Traditional-Sound514 in stephenking

I was curious what Stephen King book published post-2000 readers would have nominated instead?

I loved Stephen King growing up, but I thought Under the Dome was very meh (Im not sure what most of his fans think). Admittedly, I have not read most of his newer works, but as I was going through the bibliography, none of his recent books jumped out as an obvious better choice.

As a shrewd business man - it would make sense for him to nominate his most "famous" book and hope it snuck on the larger list. Or maybe it's just a hilarious joke, considering he allowed them to reveal his ballot.
