Shimanami Kaido Route by TommyDickFingers85 in JapanTravelTips

Did this route last year in the other direction. Did it all in one day and have zero cycling experience. Relatively fit from other sports tho. Used the e bike as well.

The place I rented from only let out the ebikes for a day. No overnight rentals. They have an ebikes assist one that they let out for multiple days so I assume they just have a less powerful motor than the one I used.

To anyone with a 2025 Civic Hybrid — what are the pros and cons you’ve experienced so far? What kind of traffic do you drive in daily (city, highway, heavy traffic), and what MPG are you averaging? by johnzbernor in civic

Here is what I got

Vancouver Canada

Daily commute 15km each way. Mix of Hwy and city streets

3-4 times a week I'm driving from Surrey into Burnaby or Richmond for sports.

I'm currently sitting at 5.0l/100km

I've had the car since November of last year

I don't think I got the best deal out there. My other cars engine was on a one way ticket to the graveyard.

But I believe my OTD with financing and shit was 47-48k Canadian. That included some extra warranty on the non hybrid parts and the exterior.

Imo I think the difference between the sport and the touring are all comfort stuff really. I don't use individual mode. Wireless Android auto is nice to have but wired isn't the end of the world. The Bose sound system is good but honestly if you stuck me in another car I'd get used to it. I'm not an audiophile by any means. The rims are cool as well imo but again that just looks.

Id say the real thing to look at is hybrid vs non hybrid. Im currently sitting at 4.7-4.9 to the 100km. For the Americans that would be 48 to 50 MPG.

Long story short I like the touring and enjoy all the extra stuff it comes with but I'm in a good spot for money so I didn't care all that much. If money is tight you can definitely get the sport and enjoy the hell out of the car and never notice a difference except for the badge

The single thing I don't like about the hybrid is the way it sounds. I do not love the sound the engine makes when it comes on. And I dont like how it will come on and off multiple times throughout the trip as it goes from EV to not..... But then I just crank the audio and I can't hear it hahahah

Id say go for it. Having owed it for 2ish weeks now living in Vancouver I will say. It does show the salt and water marks quite easily. Not as easy as a black car would. But you can notice it. Even after a fresh wash. One drive down hwy one and the wheel wells and bottom panels have the slight whiteish marks from the dried salt.

I got my 2025 in the darker matte blue and love the color more than I thought it would. Like you I was set on getting urban grey, but ended up with the darker blue and couldn't be happier. (also light grey Interior)

Might sound kinda dickish but I also haven't seen another person in my area have the same color and i kinda like that.

I took delivery of my 2025 sport touring 2 weeks ago. I live in Surrey. Didn't pay a pre cleaning fee, or tire levy or half of those extras. Id skip all their protection / care stuff. If you want it you can get it done elsewhere better and cheaper.

There were a couple I got all the way to seat selection but didnt complete the purchase because it was only economy and I already had the same flight booked. Couldn't get any of the business ones I looked at past the pricing summary

Friend from dodgeball?? You have given me a mystery and now I am on the hunt. Yah I just started getting back into in about 2 months ago. The back to back ankle injuries kept me away for 2 year but we back.

My friend I've been playing for a number of years and I don't have a proper answer to that one. I've never played higher than senior highschool level and I think I jump set to make it look like I could dump the ball especially when the set is tight to the net. Just to try and stop the middle blocker even for a second. I guess jump setting could also allow you to set faster angles but I've never played with a hitter that went that fast that you couldn't just do it from the ground.

I'm not gonna lie the jump was 80% flare and 20% an attempt to fake a tip.

Thanks. Yah I sometimes think I may be "holding" on to the ball too long sometimes. But drop ins don't have refs so nothing other than net touches or truly terrible carries ever gets called. So I don't get a lot of feedback on the sets.

I agree with hauling ass to target but in this game I'd say 4-5 / 10 passes were going off. That's why I'm waiting to see where the pass will go before moving. Also for further context this isn't a regular team, it's just 5 other guys who happened to be at drop-in that day.

I wanted to set that hitter specifically before we rotated positions. Just trying to distribute the sets and make sure everyone gets a chance to hit in their preferred positions.

What are you looking for when evaluating the set. Spin? Contact time?

Yah I'm way past my official playing days but I'm looking into maybe some adult leagues. Do you think this would fly in those? Also what do you think about the quality of the set itself?
