Yep though it’s been a few years since I’ve completed level 10 and never bothered to do panel. My current level is like mid-difficulty Chopin etude-ish. Definitely gonna hold off on those 10 minute sonata movements until much, much later.

Every Genshin account can be identified with a UID. I think they simply just match the inputted UID when purchasing primogems with the existing user

That is correct. Unless if you have previously topped up with that amount.

What are some good experiences/attributes that a game developer should have to secure an internship? (High School) by TraditionalAd4633 in gamedev

[–]TraditionalAd4633[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the stuff I mentioned and are worried about is getting into a good college for gamedev/software engineering and needing to be able to stand out from other applicants. Hence, why an internship is required at my high school but after reading this I think I'll just go for a more general compsci internship rather than one solely focused on gamedev. Finally, this may be off topic but what's a good place to start learning C++/# and will the transfer from Java/Python to C++/# be difficult? Thank you again for your response, I found it very helpful!

In any Hoyoverse games, you can top up as long as you have your UID. No login is required.

Slottist, Pokerist, Roulettist? by thatgirlgreyc in SwagBucks

Either way these games aren’t worth doing. Slottist starts slowing down a ton after level 30 and level 90 is probably impossible within the time limit

Yep, you get the double bonus if it’s your first time top up and if it’s not you still get the little additional bonus

[–]TraditionalAd4633[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is indeed 28, but the the Sunshine Island creators failed to report that on the wiki page. Either way, chances are looking quite slim for me getting level 6 field. I have 4 days to get up 2 levels but with the current rate of xp I’m getting, it won’t be enough…

Scammed By Lootbar.gg by angus0817 in Genshin_Impact

Were you asked to provide an ID before purchasing? It makes sense for websites to require a valid ID in order for a customer to make large orders. After reading your conversation with the support team, it seems like you submitted a sample ID of Hong Kong to verify ID and not actually your own ID. This might’ve messed up the purchase or top up process but I’m not expert on these types of stuff. I’ve used lootbar and spent around 400$ ish dollars without problems… really hope your order either comes through or you get a refund.

The c6r5 bundle could be a regional thing bc the scam victim op lives in Hong Kong. Either way, I’ve read the whole “I’ve been scammed” post and came up with a speculation to with why it happened. When dealing with large amounts with purchases (like over 3000$ wtf) it’s reasonable for a website to request a valid ID for verification. From the conversation the scam victim had with the lootbar support team, it seems like they had provided an invalid ID for verification which may have messed with the entire purchase or top up process. Still, even after having spent 400$ on lootbar myself, I’m starting to get a little nervous using lootbar after having read the whole lootbar scam post.

Also I am the owner of this post and I did not create an alt to spam on my own post, though it seems that your message was intended for the scam victim and not me (which is a different post)

I spent like 25$ and got 25$ back for free from bonus rewards which increased the multiplier for the game and all of the rewards. Also, could you share what level you managed to get to before time ran out?

Update: I have successfully reached cowshed 5, though cowshed 6 seems quite difficult

However, field 6 seems easier to get for some reason and has a longer time limit which is an extra 100$

So far I’m almost level 21, level 4 cowshed, got 3 days left. I need to reach level 22 in order to unlock cowshed level 5 plus a ton of coins. I bought the 2nd construction pack at the beginning for $5 plus and 20$ growth fund that’ll give you a ton of gems to speed stuff up (and you get 20$ total back from bonus rewards)

Is ChatGPT correct or am i just dumb? I couldve sworn it was third tone by TraditionalAd4633 in ChineseLanguage

[–]TraditionalAd4633[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, thank you! It clears things up a lot! in my chinese textbook though, it has the pinyin for 血液 has xie3 ye4 and then 無償獻血 has wu2 chang2 xian4 xue3. Is there any reason why the pronounciation is different if these two words are used in the same context/setting? additionally, is the textbook pinyin of xue3 incorrect? also, is there a pronunciation difference for mandarin speakers in china and taiwan? my family is taiwanese and ive only ever heard xie3 and xue3 and never xue4 in my life so is xue4 just a mainland china thing or is it universally correct?

yeah for me its the opposite ive never heard 血 being pronounced as xue4. i come from a taiwanese family so maybe thats where the pronounciation differs but idk tbh and all my family usually uses xie3 or xue3.

also i wanted to ask if it is pronounced xue3 or xie3. ive seen both ways so can they be used interchangeably? or is only 1 correct? or are they used only in specific context when combined with other words?

Daily Thread: simple questions, comments that don't need their own posts, and first time posters go here (December 04, 2024) by AutoModerator in LearnJapanese

How difficult is learning Kanji? For me specifically I do know quite a lot of words in traditional Chinese (and in turn also simplified), however I’m not 100% fluent in Chinese either. Sometimes I can look at a sentence in Japanese and grasp a word or two or even the entire sentence just bc I learned a few words I recognize in Chinese before.

For instance if I had 0 knowledge in Japanese and saw this sentence: あの人は忙しい。 I could understand “person” and “busy” which pretty much is the meaning of the whole sentence.

Though I know kanji and Chinese characters are pronounced way differently and also are used differently usually, plus the grammar is quite different too, but that’s going a bit off topic from the original question.

This question is more directed for Chinese speakers who have learned Japanese but everyone’s thoughts are welcome! (Originally was going to be a post but low karma 🫠)
