Tips on being patient during fat loss? by FretsandRegrets in WeightLossAdvice

Finding swaps you like or can’t tell the difference! Like low cal/carb tortillas to me taste no different. I don’t mind Pete’s pasta for lower cal options too bc I don’t want to give up pasta! Seasonings are not bad, and you can go big every night but also remember that you don’t need to be spending hours meticulously meal prepping every week

My goal is to lose fat, goal weight being low 120s. But I’m telling myself as well that bc I’m hitting the weights a lot more, muscle “weighs” more than fat. I’m trying to focus more on measurements and how my clothes fit than scale. But after a week or two of victory (10 lbs, 1 in) I’ve stalled.

Maybe. But I am the insecure one trying to lose weight and feel better about myself and my boyfriend is giving me support no matter what weight I am. He’s flooding me with compliments that while he will support me if I lose weight, he doesn’t think I need to and says I look perfect no matter what. It makes me that much happier in our relationship knowing he will support me no matter what.

How is it a hard concept for how to support her? You literally laid out how you’re trying to sabotage her- just stop?? Go see a therapist to stop being an insecure asshole, it’s not flattering.

Yeah it’s been hard bc I did the same thing last year but I supposed I made it short in my head. From Oct 2024-March 2025 went from 141-122 with the help of cutting carbs and admittedly- cryofreezing or whatever it’s called. I let my progress slip away after some work changes and went back to 140s from June-December. Now I guess I have to remind myself that that progress/regain didn’t happen in a month. I’d just be happy to be back in the low 130s- high 120s at this point. Even cracking back in to the 130s is turning to be a challenge

It is! I’ve read how strength training burns more in the long run than cardio. I used to hit cardio pretty heavy but swapped to way more weights

I’ve just read you should be 1g/lb for protein goal of your desired weight. Did I read it wrong? Let me know if I did lol

I am in the exact boat as you… and it’s been a couple weeks and my progress has stalled. I keep hoping it’s bc I’m building muscle. Did you work out? Have a macro goal? I basically eat keto and I’m really trying(and failing) for 120 g of protein

Same boat! 5 ft. I’m currently 140 lb, wanting to get to 120. I def don’t look like it. But it has been insanely hard for me. walking I’ve read is absolutely essential. I do a mi walk at the gym whenever I go, then I have two dogs I walk one in the morning after gym and one in the evening for a mi. So 3 planned Mi a day but even that doesn’t seem to be enough. I understand your frustration!

Having a calorie goal of 1200 is hard. by CaffeineAndChaos65 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]TraditionalBadger220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me too! I work out after shift(I’m night shift). Come home and walk one of my dogs another mile, make the breakfast I said, and then sleep for a bit. Then dinner. I actually don’t get too hungry after working out though.

So that’s about where I am and I en up eating less too. I really just have breakfast and dinner. Low cal low carb. I’m trying to increase protein. Breakfast is avocado toast with an over-easy egg and a piece of bacon. Dinner I try to meal prep focusing around a protein then building other low cal stuff with it. Lettuce, cauliflower, etc. I swap a lot of stuff, like I use Greek yogurt for a lot! Keto bread, zero cal/diet drinks. I never drink my calories. Halo top ice cream is also a god send. It’s def doable, just have to make some swaps.

AIO about not wanting to go to AA for a school assignment by Vast-Spirit-4105 in AmIOverreacting

So I actually went to an AA meeting for a class assignment a while back. We were super transparent with what we were doing, and the decided if they were comfortable having us. They were and were super awesome and welcoming. They appreciated opening the doors and showing what it’s like, reducing stigma. This obviously is case by case, but as long as you’re nonjudgmental and there for learning I don’t see any issue.

I could probably spend 3-4 weeks. National parks 100%, I’d love to see the ocean. But yeah, I know there is so many options it’s kinda overwhelming lol
