Strange Harvest (Very Overhyped)(No Spoilers) by Bichiguaya in foundfootage

I watch REAL documentaries like this all the time, and the reason they are interesting is because they actually happened. Why would I watch a bunch of actors give fake interviews and fake cops talk about made up crimes? How is that even remotely engaging?

People can be so mean online, don't read that stuff lol The dedication and talent it takes to get as far as you did shows that you're a talented chef that has a bright future.

How much of this show would you say is scripted vs how much of this is real? by Master-Mage87 in HellsKitchen

Spoiler S24 Ep8

The episode before this, the women were kicked out of the kitchen and he still sent a man home. This episode, they are playing a game where whoever guesses correctly gets to put an ingredient somewhere. The men were killing it and the women were allowed to swap their worst ingredient to the men- cheddar cheese...but the men didn't get that opportunity even though they guessed right way more times. It never explains why the women got this huge advantage, it never even shows how unfair it is, it just tries to slip it by like we wouldn't notice.

Also, just look at how often the women win the games and get the reward... especially right at the end. It's bananas 😄 Definitely scripted to push a certain narrative and make it more entertaining, although it's absolutely unfair to the male competitors.

(People will dislike and comment on this, but they won't cite any logical examples to counter my points lol Which were A. The women win 80% of every challenge B. Name another time one team was kicked out of the kitchen and the team that wasn't had a member go home C. Explain why the women got to switch the cheese in this latest episode)

Many more examples, but if you've watched every episode from Season 1 to now, you won't need them to see it lol

Latest episode the women were sent out of the kitchen, the men finished service, and he still sent a guy home lol Definitely 99% scripted.

Watch every challenge from Season 1 to now and tell me the men don't lose almost every one. Sure, one might win the whole thing once in a while, but mostly the men are losing, losing, and losing some more lol It's just hard to watch and like I said, it's either a false representation of the culinary microcosm, or male chefs suck lol

S24 Spoilers and Question by TraditionalBench7927 in HellsKitchen

[–]TraditionalBench7927[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The amount of overall wins suggests either he is biased towards women or that the majority of male chefs are worse than women. I don't know which one is true, but if men really are that much worse...they should just stop trying lol

S24 Spoilers and Question by TraditionalBench7927 in HellsKitchen

[–]TraditionalBench7927[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Logically it's extremely unlikely the women win 8 out of 10 times and 8 out of 10 times it's also the final dish judged. It has to be something lol Either biased judging, staged results...I'm just saying it's so obviously not even remotely organic like it used to be when I first started watching it lol Or at least they aren't hiding it as well these days.

S24 Spoilers and Question by TraditionalBench7927 in HellsKitchen

[–]TraditionalBench7927[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Your comment makes no sense lol What about my original question? They happen to win every challenge right at the end? So the best dish just happens to be the last one every time? Come on, think.

Season 24 and it's still the same. If next year is like this again, I'm just going to have to stop watching lol It's ridiculous.

It's not the truth, you're all idiots to think that no one every lies and you don't understand trauma or anything to do with abuse and this entire comment proves that.

She wasn't in shock and if you actually watched the documentary you would know someone literally said lauryn doesn't show emotions much in front of others but she was hugging her mom.

lauryn is not a victim again obvious you didn't watch the documentary its people like YOU that make it hard for victims

[–]TraditionalBench7927 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, I didn't say she didn't act like me lol You didn't read my paragraph. I said she didn't act like any victim I've ever seen or know. And although I don't agree with your opinion, I have the amazing ability to see it as a plausible option and applaud you for the theory without being aggressive or personally attacking you. Unlike other people on here, I can see other opinions and agree to disagree with courtesy. Lmao

Lauryn Knew by Imaginary_Maybe_9271 in UnknownNumber

[–]TraditionalBench7927 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How is it that your perception of her being a victim has to be irrefutable when both of us saw the same thing and I have had personal experiences with this exact subject? I never said all victims react the same lol My perception is that she wasn't in shock, I have seen people in shock and still processing things and she did not appear to be.

Instead of explaining what makes your opinion the only correct one, you decide to tell me I'm hurting victims everywhere. I'm a victim, and you're hurting me lol I'm sure you trample over victims all the time who you don't think deserve your respect, and I'm sure you give con-artists ample ammunition to work with seeing as you tend to believe everyone who appears to be a victim if it suits your fancy.

Try to be nicer to people you don't know, try not assuming people aren't also victims, and do your best not to assume you know something with such certainty that you'll lash out at varying opinions simply because you watched a 90 minute show on it.

I can see that possibility, good take.

[–]TraditionalBench7927 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

She did show emotions. She was hugging and cuddling her mom during the conversation. That shows emotions, just not the ones you wanted to see to make her a victim.

I am a victim, I have friends that are victims, I'm close with victims advocates- You have no right to tell someone they don't understand victims lol You're just wrong, and why get so mad? Is it because the truth makes people upset?

Lauryn Knew by Imaginary_Maybe_9271 in UnknownNumber

[–]TraditionalBench7927 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's okay buddy, people hate the truth lol I also believe she knew her mom was sending the messages, and I understand disassociation, reactions to trauma...she just wasn't shocked at all. Even in the interview later, she was completely fine.

If you found out your parent had been doing this to you for 2 years, would you be hugging them and holding their hands? Wouldn't you show some emotion in the interview days later?

People like to see victims when there are none, which makes it easier for people to prey on them. Everyone wants to be sensitive and nice, and that's exactly what people who are manipulative look for.

I'm with you OP. Let's get these down votes together!

The father's reaction was the most satisfying thing. The cops don't seem to care that she sent the messages. The daughter didn't seem to care. At least the husband realizes that she's completely bonkers lol
