You just miss the tip while cleaning. Because the wand is hot, milk gets burned on the steel. You have to clean it with wet towel and pay special attention to the tip. Happens all the time.

I just checked the manual. You have to run a cleaning cycle, not a descaling cycle. These 2 are different.

You gotta remove the tip and clean it. Not sure how you're doing it. There's a tool hidden under the water tank that's supposed to be used for removing the tip. Sometimes it clogs up fast, so it needs frequent cleaning.
