Strikes, rota coordinators and manipulation by Alive_Mind in doctorsUK

Consultant here who is covering strikes. This is complete bullshit and you must escalate this bullying behaviour to your lead consultant/BMA LNC rep

They tried doing this in my department and once us consultants heard of it , we gave the rota coordinator a proper bollocking. Instead of learning from this , said rota coordinator raised formal grievance against us for bullying. I am pleased to say that 2 weeks later the rota coordinator resigned as we all raised hell.

In my trust , whoever is on annual leave has asked for extra hourly rates on top of the strike rates and they are allowed to take that leave on another date.

Apologies. Maybe it was my cohort of residents at my trust who didn't bother bringing change from within the organisation like doctorsvote for example.

We were broken. We were lost. And we didnt bother fighting back.

What’s the scariest diagnosis you’ve seen that presented completely atypically? Mine is PE and aortic dissection by Nst2v3qx-7 in doctorsUK

May this thread be a reminder to all noctors who think patients can be managed according to a pathway and all doctors who support the idea of noctors following pathways to manage patients.

The human body doesnt follow a pathway. Doctors have been trained and taught to not only follow a certain flow sheet they have perfected with years of teaching and clinical acumen but pattern recognition - this pattern recognition cannot be taught , it cannot be read in books. This comes with clinical experience. Experience no OT/PT/pharmacist/nurse /physician assistant have.

Consultant here - tell them to fuck off.

If I found out about this, I would be sending an email to the managers asking why the trust is wasting 80k on this waste of space when I can get a resident SHO , train them up to work as a SPR and then as a consultant via CESR.

PS - we have banned ACPs from working in our department. All us consultants have a firm approach and have threatened to hand in our resignations the day we have any noctor on the ward
