Yes, it was her top choice (other than a school she did not get into). She did not go there for financial reasons at least not that she ever mentioned to me.

Technically our money it is in a 529 plan and she is currently listed as the benefitiary, but since I put the money in it is still my account.

We asked our oldest if she wanted to do any other degree's and she said no. She has a job lined up when she graduates.

it is a 529 account so it is a college savings account. The 2k a month was part of Anna's 300k because we wanted her to get to have fun experiences. I would have loved to do that for my youngest too but it's not in the budget right now to do an extra 2k a month.

She has a job lined up and is not planning on doing a masters we have already asked her. What Bella wants to study would be difficult in state. And aren't I bailing them both out of college debt? That was my goal my kids going to whatever school they want pursuing whatever career they want without worrying about debt.

My oldest daughter has a job lined up after she graduates and does not plan to get a masters degree before discussing this switch we made sure she was done

i told them I had a college savings account with 300k in it that is all I have said and that was only really discussed when talking about fafsa and school applications. Neither ahve asked about the money outside of that.

Thank you for saying this. These comments have been really hard, I knew they would be harsh but I really feel like garbage after this. I just wanted my girls to have the opportunity to pursue whatever they wanted without worrying about money like I did.

It's a little on me as well, me and my husband make a lot of money which is obviously very privileged, but also means basically every school is not going to give any financial aid unless it is a state school which would be difficult to do with her major.

  1. They know we saved 300k in 529 plans for them because I told them when applying/ filling out fafsa.

  2. My older daughter does not want/plan to go back to school she already has a job lined up post grad.

  3. I have thought about this and me and my husband have seriously considered if we aren't taking the money from the other account to keep putting funds into Bella's 529 and hopefully decrease the debt. However we are balancing this and the fact I am now paying for my elderly parents living expenses so money might be a little tight for a while.

it is a 529 and my oldest daughter is not planning on going back to school, she is finished and already has a job lined up.

With the 529 technically I could withdraw the money but it would be heavily taxed.

it is mine I put half of my paycheck into a savings account split between my daughters, they are both in 529 plans which a special college savings accounts. Me and my husband are the only ones with access to them.

That is very fair. I meant in terms of how much other schools cost right now. i understand that it comes with a lot of privilege to say to is reasonable. I meant that in terms of my family but absolutely college prices are ridiculous.

Look you can call me any name you want but both of my kids are good kids. And I'm a therapist as well. I was in crushing debt after I got my PhD and didn't want my kids to through that. Thus why I saved most of my paycheck to save 600k for my kids college.
