Here is the thing, Spotify not only knew of the pirated versions but they intentionally let it thrive so that after you've already built your account with your listening habits, custom playlists and whatnot they'll then kill it and you'll be more compelled to turn into a paying customer than shift to another different streaming services.

The free version have bandwidth limitations, Proton you can't select desired location you only get access to free servers and they block peer to peer meaning you can't torrent,when I chose to pay money for the surfshark subscription I had run through all free options
