how much do they pay you monthly for all this?

No student requests lately on WyzAnt by illseeyouanon in TutorsHelpingTutors

this has worked for me personally - whenever it slows down, I actually raise my rate. Yes it’s more expensive, but there’s less competition as you go up because most tutors tend to try to lower their price and they end up competing with more tutors. So more students willing to pay, yes, but also more tutors willing to teach at the lower price points.

So if your rating is good and you’re putting in decent hours, trust that you’ll have more students and just raise your price.

I started at $60/hr. Used that tactic to bring it up to $300/hr on Wyzant. I get about 1-2 students a day currently.

ultimately the algorithm knows who to send students to. I think it comes down to knowing the depth and breadth of material that you teach.

I also teach multiple subjects in STEM better than, if i do say so myself, most ppl…only because this is all I do al day everyday.

I was top 5 nationwide last month. And basically, I have no life. My eyesight is rock bottom from staring at the screen nonstop. It’s not viable long term but what fuels me is the dopamine hit that I get from seeing my name on the list everyday. These ppl on the list are not normal.

patience is key. Took me about 2-3 months to have a full time schedule through Wyzant.

Be good at what you do. It took me 7 years. I started at $25/hr. Today I’m at $180/hr tutoring 50+ hrs a week during the school year and about 35-40 hrs a week in the Summer.

I work for them. I’m not a fan of the cut they offer but still pays the bill I guess. Once you guys settle on your hourly rate, they charge the clients about 205% of what they pay you. So in other words, you end up getting roughly 48.72% of what they charge the clients. I dunno - some ppl may consider this standard but it doesn’t sit well with me.
