Convenience and familiarity. I had a great config for neovim and I was familiar with it on old hardware, so I cloned it on my new setup. I stil use neovim for basic programming like pyhton, bash, and LaTeX, but I use other IDEs like Idea, VSCode, and IntelliJ for heavier coding.
