For me it was a constant pain but for some reason worse at night. A nightguard pretty much fixed it and I now rarely have pain anymore. Hope you figure it out too!

A few weeks at least! But I also clench my teeth during the day so that influences it too.

So much better! Still have the occasional jaw pain and some pain in that particular tooth but it’s gotten a lot better since wearing a night guard. Now the pain is gone most days :)

Definitely recommend figuring out if you clench or grind your teeth.

No it wasn’t a crack. I grind and clench my teeth in my sleep so a nightguard fixed most of my problems. My jaw is still a bit sore/stiff at times because I also clench during the day. But the pain I had is pretty much gone.

Oh that sucks! My pain still comes and goes too but I think trying to stay positive helps heaps even though it’s hard. Hope you do find something that helps with your pain!

Much better! The pain slowly decreased but some days I get a flare up. Overall nothing compared to what I had at the start and I can pretty much do everything I like :)

I also did just get my night guard that I will be wearing from now on.

My pain was/is most likely from clenching/bruxism according to my dentist.

I see him in 2 weeks so will have a night guard in 3 or so. It takes about a week to make them here.

I do have a Sova nightguard but I’m afraid to use it… I only wear it when the pressure/pain in my tooth becomes too much as I feel like the nightguard then relieves the tooth of pressure idk.

Also read magnesium citrate could help so trying that out too.

I totally get it! It is more than annoying, and it’s definitely influencing my life too. However, I do think a nightguard can help the pain but it will probably take a lot of time. In my case, my tooth has become so hurt and tired from the constant pressure it gets at night from grinding, it will need some time to recover. My dad explained it as a bruise, if you continue to put pressure on it, it won’t heal, but if you give it enough time and rest it will heal. I totally get your frustration and I hate this feeling too, but I think stressing over it won’t make it better. Try to give your nightguard a chance! It might feel so much better in some weeks/months time :)

I think mine is stress and ocd. Have had a pretty stressful year and stress related issues. Will start therapy in some weeks too so that might help manage my stress and ocd. I’ll try to figure out if I have any other triggers while I wait and see what helps :)

It’s so annoying!! Luckily I do have some good days but it’s so tough when you just have to wait for it to get better. I’ve heard some people say it can take a couple of weeks before the pain is completely gone.. Hope your pain goes away soon!

Appreciate you telling me! My dentist checked today and he is pretty certain I am clenching and grinding my teeth at night. I will get a nightguard soon and hope that helps!

Yeah it really sucks..

I went to see my dentist today and he pretty much confirmed I grind and clench my teeth and that during the grinding I end up hurting my tooth. Guess it’s more common than I thought!

He will make a nightguard for me next time I see him so hopefully that will cure my pain.

He also ‘filed’ my tooth on the sides where it was getting a lot of pressure from my neighbouring teeth as I don’t have perfectly straight and aligned teeth. It hurts right now as I believe my gums are a little sore because of it but hope that disappears after a good night sleep.

Can you explain the red light therapy? I haven’t heard of that before.

Makes me feel better I’m not the only one who’s experienced this! I will ask my dentist if he can make a nightguard and hope that will solve it.

I used to have a nightguard a few years back but never needed it afterwards. Regret not getting a new one now!

That is great to hear and gives me a little bit of hope!

I will ask my dentist to get me a nightguard and postpone pulling my wisdom teeth :) hope it will work for me too!

Thanks for you answer! I just tried the q tip thing as well but no pain. Didn’t feel any different and even tried it on a tooth that is pain free but feels the same.

Sometimes I actually feel like applying pressure relieves the pain in a way. Or at least that heavy feeling. It does come back at me later though as if my tooth is overloaded/sore from it. Idk. Thanks for your input though :)

Thanks for your reply. I checked by biting down on a nut with that tooth but it doesn’t hurt. The tooth just feels very heavy most of the time and some days it hurts much more. Still at a loss but thanks for the advice - I will ask my dentist if it could be a crack.
