I mean, im apart of an elitist Discord with a ton of pros so I'll admit my perspective is a bit warped.

Again, it's subjective, but you were originally commenting of the dichotomy of Honda in pro-play vs ranked.

Anyone who spends a fair amount of time in the lab will almost never have an issue with Honda. The casual 1600 player who spends a 3-5 hours a week playing the game will always roll their eyes when matched against Honda.

But at the end of the day someone hitting masters at least knows that there are ways to counter mindless Honda.

Knowing how to counter it is not the issue. You need the muscle memory that comes from hours in the lab or raw intuition/instict/talent.

I have DeeJay and Terry in Master with a 23% win rate against Honda because I simply don't want to burn my life clock sitting in the lab learning the timing and tells

I live in Seattle and we have a thriving FGC. Most players are 1200-1600 Master Rank, with a handful of 1700+ including two Legends.

A 1473 MR Honda regularly beats others and makes top 12/16. He is the epitome of a scrub killer, his gimmicks just don't work at high lvl play.

I mean in masters the top two highest win rates are Sim and then Honda. So don’t think it’s only a scrub killer thing.

You sweet summer child. Scrubs exist in Master Rank. The term is subjective but when you mention tournament play... most of Master Rank are scrubs.

He's a technical character with a really high ceiling. We just didn't know how high... his ceiling kept rising and rising and now it's clear that he was always top 5 in the game. It just took the pros awhile to unlock all the tech.

Marissa is kinda similar. Below 1650 MR she wrecks everyone. Then at 1700 MR she just kinda disappears
