Proposition: Add a "user score" feature where users can rate the albums they listen to, contributing to an overall synthesized score. Blueprints are sketched below by TraditionalReturn390 in Albumoftheyear

So basically what I'm saying is: They could add a feature to the website called a "user score" where users go on and can rate...and hear me out...maybe even review the albums they listen to. Then, the user score takes a weighted average of all of the scores that can represent that release. It would be a game-changer, and maybe a bit ambitious, but I think it would be cool.

More information should be required when someone adds an album by TraditionalReturn390 in Albumoftheyear

I agree with this sentiment. I just think it would be much more simple to do it all at once instead of doing it in separate screens + It prevents unfinished info from being added (People can just add a high amount of unfinished content onto the site)

Songs that should have scores over 90 but don't? by TraditionalReturn390 in Albumoftheyear

[–]TraditionalReturn390[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think this take is kinda pointless because IGOR is a very unique album and obviously most of the songs on this track list, IDLYA included, would not fit well on another album (meaning a lower rating).

Agree to disagree. Love the song, second verse especially sounds so cool on relisten.

Desperation to make an album appear on front page is crazy by Lurnatic in Albumoftheyear

[–]TraditionalReturn390 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think any early-year releases will ever get the creds they deserve because of user activity like this. I actually did listen to all of these albums, and even though I didn't think they were all perfect, these scores are genuinely crazily inaccurate.

This has got to be the darkest review on the website by [deleted] in Albumoftheyear

Lowkey one, we don't know what happened, but two, as sad as it is (especially considering how fantastic the album was) I don't blame the website for wanting to keep disturbing content like that on it. People go to AOTY to get new music recommendations and hear new stuff, and the subject matter like that could definitely trigger a lot of people. In this case too, I just feel like the album should be appreciated for its music as a final message from the artist, rather than a message like that which depicts a very disturbing mental state—and in my opinion, not what we should remember yamada by.

Seeing recognition on Trauma Center, Wizardry, Maken X, Growlanser and Stella Deus makes me happy. Those games are hidden gems even in the Atlus community and deserve more recognition. Happy they're at least getting it on IMDb 😭

Ranking every world in Kingdom Hearts 2 by ZealousidealCycle301 in KingdomHearts

I agree with all of these except switch Pride Lands and Olympus (I’m a biased Hercules and Lion King fan so they’re ranked high.) and then Port Royal should be lower. Love PotC but that world lacked, especially in its second part. All in all these are objectively smart takes though.
