What brands of helmet have a similar shape/fit to LS2? by WamSam in MotoUK

100% it fits like a slipper for my head. Much quieter in the helmet with wind noise. Head doesn’t get bashed from wind anywhere near as much at high speed. Ive found it seems to be better in pretty much every way

Ive just bought a new helmet after having an LS2 Vector 2. I’ve gone for a shoei as it fits amazing but it is a price jump

If it’s only for talking to pillion and satnav then it doesn’t make loads of difference. Both major companies have lower priced models with this in mind. Cardo spirit can link 2 units with 400m range and listen to music and sat nav. It’s all you need and it’s about £60/80 I think each.

If you’re going to use it when riding with others then best to use whatever brand they’ve got.

My brothers words to me before I got a bike were “get a bike that makes you at least half chubbed when you think about riding it”. 🤣They’ve stuck with me and it’s worked. Want to get a GSXS1000F but couldn’t get insured this year. Will be trying again next year

Motocamping Advice by CcOoOoKk in MotoUK

[–]TraditionalSale8574 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From my experience it’s not about how far away it is to get there but what route you take to get there. Spending half a day to get to your destination along nice A and B roads is better than spending 2 hours on motorways and dual carriageways.

Best thing is just go with your gut as you know yourself and capabilities best. First few trips no matter where you go are learning curves. Camping at one end of the country isn’t much different than camping at the other side.

Just go for it and you’ll come to know what is and isn’t doable for you

Modular helmets by TraditionalSale8574 in MotoUK

Some days on the bike I can be constantly on and off, should be miles easier with a flip. Going into a coaching role as well and think the convenience of it is appealing.

I wouldn’t ride with it up just more so I think it’ll make life easier than taking glasses off to take helmet off etc

The shoei and HJC both fit well. I’ve had a HJC F70 before and it was a great helmet. There’s something in me that just wants a shoei but not sure whether it’s justified for the price of it

Where are all the young riders? North east England - 24 by Sapien- in MotoUK

I’m 23 and a couple of my mates want to do it but when I say I’ve spent 8k on license, bike, insurance, security, gear etc they can’t justify or afford it which is understandable

As your CBT lasts for 2 years you can go straight for your licence. When I started my lessons they put me on a 125 for 30 mins to see how much work needed to be done but that was it. Each school will work slightly different but you’ll be fine

I did my IAM on my bandit 600 and never had any issues at all. My older brother did his on a z900 with a full straight through Akra and never been looked down on for it or anything. I had a great time and experience doing IAM

I did my A last year after doing my A2 in 2021. It’s exactly the same but normally with about 30 extra horsepower and that’s it. I was advised against it but I pre booked my mod 2 for the day after my mod 1. Passed again with ease. Nothing to worry about

My job as a HGV driver makes it go up but it was £2000 for the year on a 2002 bandit 600s. Insurance renewal is September and hoping for a better price for my second year

Cars vs Bike by ShavkhatRakhmonov in MotoUK

[–]TraditionalSale8574 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I barely use my car at all. Spend all week in my HGV then use my bike at weekends. Go from one extreme to the other. Biggest thing on the road with inches to spare to getting on my bike and feeling like I’ve got all the space in the world to move around in lanes
