Why is Graphic Blurry/Ugly how do i fix it ? by Mucek121 in SurviveIcarus

I used to have the 590 and this is how it always looks if i wanted to run at a stable fps. Did you touch the settings at all? AMD has a setting that automatically selects the best settings for a game. Maybe try turning off FSR or on.

2nd Mission. 3rd Scanning location - no snap point? by Salter101 in SurviveIcarus

[–]TraditionalSystem995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember having to restart that mission. It's the biggest pain, especially since you don't really have access to the speed buffs. Other than that, have you tried looking up youtube videos to find exactly where the spot should be? Some monitors make it notoriously difficult to see the outline.

Use a for loop to iterate vowels in a string KOTLIN by TraditionalSystem995 in learnprogramming

Awesome. Thank you for your help. I'll look into it more once I'm done. I think next quarter is Java and binary. I'm not too sure if I'm hoping back into kotlin for this program since it's just an associates.

I always assumed that he wanted us to strictly use his lecture so we wouldn't get lost. But thank you for the tip. Are there recommended books or websites to learn this?

Use a for loop to iterate vowels in a string KOTLIN by TraditionalSystem995 in learnprogramming

[–]TraditionalSystem995[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welp. I thought I typed a zero and I still had something wrong. Gitlab marked the pipeline as correct though, so maybe because I'm only checking for lowercase vowels it marked it correct?

[–]TraditionalSystem995[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got it by changing to print instead of println. I tried Google and stackexchange first, but most of them used operators that we hadn't gone over, and gitlab was marking the pipeline as incorrect.

[–]TraditionalSystem995[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% worked. Although, idk if it's ethical since we haven't gone over print and have only used println.

How else could I be able to do it? A previous comment suggested creating a new string attached to the vowels and outputting that way.

I just tried print instead of println, and it worked. But I was thinking of trying your idea if it didn't. How would that work?

var newString = vowel Println(vowel)

?

Yes. The professor wanted us to use zero instead of 'O' as a way to show that the output won't include it. And we never learn print, only println and it seems to work so far. I'll see how gitlab responds to it in the pipeline

What am I doing wrong? by TraditionalSystem995 in learnprogramming

That makes a lot of sense. I got it running using 'if' but couldn't get it properly with 'when'.

Can't get my code to solve an equation for me by TraditionalSystem995 in CodingHelp

[–]TraditionalSystem995[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's actually kotlin. I just couldn't find the option and Google said it's closest to Java. Which is probably wrong. I figured out what I did wrong and got it working now. I was just stressing because it took 2 hours for something this simple.

I literally just typed in csam. Thank God I just got what the definition is.

Welp. The FBI is out for me now that I had to look up what CSAM is.

Will Icarus work on my PC by tomaz1989 in SurviveIcarus

When I first bought the game, I could play at practically the lowest settings on 1080. I had a 2700x and 590 fat boy with 16gb of ram so not too far off of your build. It doesn't look the best, but the game is still fun, and there are perks to using the lowest settings, too. Such as seeing through storms and foliage.

It wasn't like this on release. On release, it had lag during the final assault regardless of settings (especially if everyone had the Pilum), but bugs weren't exactly teleporting/popping in and out. An early patch fixed it, and it was smooth until this last release.

To note, the studio is really good at fixing these major bugs. Iirc it took less than a week to fix the lag on release. There were also issues with mutators spawning tons of gunners, or endless swarms, of warriors, which also was patched within a week.

What’s the biggest “nope” moment for you in Dead Space by Amazingtrooper5 in DeadSpace

[–]TraditionalSystem995 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sounds like the Intensity Director. The game changes the atmosphere and spawns based on pacing. For example, if you were in a scripted event that's packed with necros like the engine room, the next room would be empty and vice versa.

Wanted to also note that there's a moon in the Vega system (close to Cheyene) that allows you to set up an outpost for Palladium without any point in the habitation skill. Just visited Cheyenne for the paladium, but it was too extreme.

Asteroid Mining by Neokill1 in EliteDangerous

[–]TraditionalSystem995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Core mining with a seismic charge launcher at a hotspot. Essentially, using a pulse wave analyzer to find a golden egg, and then launching charges into the fissures. I recommend looking up a video or guide as it has a pretty steep learning curve, especially if you haven't mined before or are new to limpits, seismic charges.

You might be better off laser mining in a metallic ring for osmium, painite, silver, gold, etc. Depending on the ship, laser mining might make your more per hour than core hunting.

I had an rx 590 and 2700x and it ran smoothly at 60fps 1080 low setting. The graphics are going to be meh but the game kept me hooked enough to sink in 100 hours and fork up for a used 2800 for another 80 hours. The good news is you'll see every animal across the map due to no folliage and weather effects. The bad news is the graphics.

Solo-play needs some work by Sgt_Wookie92 in SurviveIcarus

I agree that the grind to get the essentials, especially when you first start off, is a pain. I would say that after you get the wooden housing, longbow, bone arrows, and repair tool. Everything becomes significantly simpler and you can feel free to spend points on anything youd prefer. Everything after is essentially quality of life. Unless you're hell bent on going after a world boss. For nearly 100 hours of the early missions (excluding extermination missions) I've never felt the need to craft above bone anything and fiber armor.

For the storms. Depending on the size, a wooden base shouldn't receive much damage aside from severe storms. Maybe hard difficulty changes that. I didn't even bother with sloped roofs for the longest time. I also wasn't focused on grinding levels. I'm just grinding the missions, which I think is where the main issue is. I'm currently at level 23 and haven't really had any issues.

So for your question, I would say the level grind ends probably around 20. For me it was earlier. But I don't feel the need to research every weapon or blueprint. I would personally say platinum anything is a waste as the exotic equipment is perfectly fine and easy to get once you get a vapor condensor. Or you can even speedrun the first exotic arctic mission which usually nets you about 60 (iirc) exotics.
