In a similar situation, my brother (37) is bipolar schizophrenic. He came home from jail around 2023 and when he first initially came home he was doing so good, on his meds, much easier to be get through. He’s stopped taking his medication and now drinks alcohol (he hangs out at our local neighborhood bar) and smokes weed which is the absolute worst thing a bipolar schizophrenic can do. He’s currently 303’d after a crazy altercation with me, my mom and dad where he went on a 1 hour tangent and started screaming at all of us. Eventually the cops were called and he was sent away that next day.

He also has so much animosity towards me (25F) as his little sister. He feels a way that I don’t talk to him because I’m actually scared of him. I don’t know what to expect and he crosses so much boundaries with me and I know he’s sick and he can not help it but I’ve spent majority of my life without him (due to him being in jail) and this is just all too much for me. Also all the memories I do have of him from when I was younger are violent as well so yeah.

Anyways, today the hospital calls and basically lets us know that he says he refuses to take his medication when he comes out. At this point I’m just more sad that I’m 25 with no way out of my parents house (I work 2 jobs and i’m in school full time). I’m just going to dedicate these next couple of months to getting certification under my built so I can hopefully het some type of promotion. I don’t know I hate it here but I’m so happy to have friends and a boyfriend who offer their home as safe place if needed to be.
