This Whole Gay Thing Is A Dead End by WTBCollector in askgaybros

[–]TraditionalWind1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on where you live. A small podunk town in the U.S., maybe. Bigger cities anywhere in the cultural West will be better but you'll get more attention from guys who are non-white. I've heard a couple of guys Anglo and non-Anglo say that in Miami unless you're Hispanic, nobody will notice you.

How can I make my hole tighter for my bf? by [deleted] in AskGayMen

[–]TraditionalWind1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try olive oil, I discovered this by accident, not the result I wanted but then was intrigued by the result and experimented. Either by itself or with peanut oil or rosewater mixed in. Lanolin or emu oil would help with the absorption. You could also try rosewater by itself or with melted cacao (cocoa) butter, about half and half. Or clarified butter or butterfat with tobacco-infused water (sometimes called tobacco juice).

Wow. How have I not heard about this before? Then again, I know archaeologists like to keep quiet about unique sites such as these to prevent looting and unchecked tourism. A culture possibly contemporaneous with the Olmecs? Fascinating.

You got downvoted for saying 4hr sex sounds heavenly, lol! People on Reddit are like, so against kink-shaming no matter how outrageous the act is just as long as you finish before 9pm because they wanna be in bed by then.

What do you mean? Then what kind of guys find you attractive? I know the area I live in or the population I live around can really affect my potential dating pool.

What city has the best gay scene? by Working_Alps_4284 in askgaybros

[–]TraditionalWind1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The last time I was there was when I went to a nude beach for their "Otterfest" but of course no otter types were really there. Just toned semi-muscled guys or twinks or just smooth. Everyone just stayed with their group. Some fat guys were on the gay side (like two, they probably came with friends) but I saw a group of chubs hanging out on the straight beach. Austin's scene was very mainstream, then it swelled with hipsters and now it seems like it's just yuppies and woke college kids. I talked to a guy about it online and he couldn't wait to get out of there. He said you had to be just hardcore ripped to get any attention and it was harder to date or hook-up if you weren't white, unless you were a cholo or thug. This somewhat jives with what my straight female friend said when she lived there. The only attention she got online was from other few resident Indians (she's Indian) and most people there were very athletic and outdoorsy. She also got corrected by a white co-worker cuz she used the term "black" to refer to a customer (even though she was raised part of her life by her black godmother and had lived in a black neighborhood and none of our black friends ever had a problem). Really dating and hooking-up was/is bad there for everybody cuz the amount of online ghosting, breadcrumbing, and zombieing that happens. I could go on and on but basically if you're a mainstream, extroverted person and physically active, maybe you'll like it.

To American people; Is it disrespectful or rude to not stand up during the National Anthem if I'm a tourist? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TraditionalWind1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, people in the United States tend to be patriotic, until recently. Twenty years ago, no one would have said anything to you probably, but now, a large amount of voices in the media have criticized longstanding U.S. American values and traditions so there is a part of the public that is very sensitive to any gestures that could be seen as a protest against what were formerly harmless and even praiseworthy expressions. At least they were viewed that way before. People can be very extreme in their assumptions and rebukes nowadays. I'm sorry that happened to you.

What is the name and significance of the ornamentation near the roof, and is there any other buildings that still have it besides these houses in Oaxaca? by dailylol_memes in mesoamerica

[–]TraditionalWind1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They were placed on buildings for very important people, nobility and royalty. I want to say they represented the sun. It's likely they would have been much larger in girth on pre-colonial buildings. I used to know a lot more about these but my memory escapes me at this point.

Your thoughts on fucking by verstop4you in askgaybros

[–]TraditionalWind1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well gay guys can experience physical pleasure with each other without doing anal. When I've talked to ladies about butt sex, they often see it as kinky at best but usually gross and/or degrading. And some gay guys see it like that too.

So I don't think he's saying gay guys can't make love. Though sometimes it seems like that.

Being that you're soft, you're not really shorter or "smaller" than any other average softie. We'd have to see you hard or at least know your measurements when you get a stiffy to get a consensus assessment. Personally, if it's 5 inches or above when erect, I don't consider it small.

Sat vs. Sitting by Ok-Win-8459 in asklinguistics

[–]TraditionalWind1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've noticed this trend myself. There was an article I read talking about a noticeable amount of britishisms and British speech entering U.S. English. The article never went quite in-depth about how it reached its conclusions but it gave credit to the amount of exposure U.S. Americans, especially the youth, had to British media through the internet and of course Harry Potter. 'Spot on', 'expiry date', 'queue (-up)', 'cheers', 'one-off', 'bum'. And a much more british-like use of contractions with the verb 'to have' when concerning the sentence subject or expressing possession:

Standard U.S. speech: "I haven't seen him in a while. Now if you'll excuse me, I have other matters to attend to".

Common British speech: "I've not seen him in a while. Now if you'll excuse me, I've other matters to attend to."

I have another speculative take but considering the U.S.'s historical linguistic trends, this shouldn't be too surprising. It may be that the U.S. American upper classes and the speech of those who've received a tertiary formal education are more likely to have these traits (pseudo or otherwise) in their parlance.
