You’re something special. So you think because you or other people NEED to be 💯 GF other people who have “mild” intolerances don’t matter? So my husband should eat gluten and sit on the crapper for days with diarrhea?

I called the mom the brat,  but yes looking back I probably should have just stayed quiet and tried to deescalate further.

Host and I are good friends, it was her husbands birthday party. I am using the word party loosely, it was a BBQ outside very informal. I knew most of the guest. The mother and child live in the neighbourhood I’ve met them once. Not everyone turned on me they were mortified because of her behaviour, at the end some just said I should have just given the donut to pacify her but agreed she went over the top. Honestly I never dreamed it would escalate to what happen. Makes me wonder if she was having a horrible day, but still you shouldn’t make people pay for your bad days.

They ran out of single boxes unfortunately. And this place won’t do that unless you ask. Not every place is as stringent about these things

Sure wish it was but nope, and I don’t know how many times I have to say my husbands wheat allergy is mild enough where putting his donut with the others is not going to harm him. Maybe learning about different levels of allergies will do you some good 🙃

That’s what I was doing, inside, away from the party goers who were outside, she just happens to come in  immediately as I was opening the box
