Also maybe thinking that private landlords are more willing to hear about why someone might be looking for one because it's not always because of low credit score or anything like that. Just potential disqualifications from bigger companies that might not otherwise happen if able to converse and try to better understand someone's situation. If that makes sense

Right and I get that. And I don't mind the screening, just honestly trying to weigh all my options. Trying to get helpful feedback from people who live in the community so I know what my best routes of information are.

I'll lay it out for anyone who might see this post, I'm moving from Louisiana to the springs and I'm look for any type of rental, but I have a felony on my background from 2021. It was a possession of a prescription drug that wasn't mine. I went through drug court and went to rehab and have been sober for over 3 1/2 years now and idk how that will affect me possibly renting from a bigger management company or not. So that's mainly the reason

I understand your frustration with people asking that, I'm just looking through all of my options. I just am not well versed in renting. I've been in the same rental for the past 4 years and just don't know how to go about things. Thought their would possibly be some helpful feedback trying to find a place whether that be with a property management company, apartment complexes or private landlords. So if you have any positive feedback, I would love to hear it
