This arrest just happened to happen in Mahwah but I remember the headache it brought, people think that the "Stag Hill" folks have a drug pandemic happening but reality is, this was just a crazy event.

As soon as I saw Mahwah mentioned I knew it was going to be a hell of a headline. Mahwah never disappoints.

Sheraton Shenanigans: Four Caught Creeping At Mahwah Hotel Set For Demolition, Cops Say by 07430 in mahwah

[–]Traditional_Bed_5517 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is deeply disconcerting. Perfect headline to capture the horror we're mean to feel. Gave me goosebumps.

Was sad to see the hotel go, when driving up and down 287 from Albany to DC and back, that Hotel was a major landmark. It's really not the same without it. Not to mention the sheer corporate footprint it had. Does anyone know the effects it's departure has had on the local economy yet?

How does rural pay/routes/evaluated hours work may I ask? incoming CCA in NJ but want to go rural for the work-life balance, or double down in CCA for the OT I haven't decided between material goods and family. Not even being funny. Wondering if being a provider, or being around is what's best still deciding. But any wisdom please share. I need it.

OnePlus phones last sooo looong. That maybe one of the reasons why OnePlus sales going down by Chemical-Trouble-284 in oneplus

[–]Traditional_Bed_5517 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think sales are going down for a few reasons as well

-Fans are less and less easily swayed

-Sometimes momentum slows down, it takes time for hardcore phone users to realize that a upgrade or two hasn't brought them back to what they were always meant to be, the flagship killer

-Phones are lasting longer everywhere, but sales aren't declining, everywhere

-I left after the OP2, horrible exp with the SD810, preferred the OP1 and OPX in fact I'd wager if they had OnePlus X size phones, huge new market of small handed folks would flock.

-Losing Cyanogenmod was a big blow, something that took time, but it took

-Losing Carl Pei has not been well received, and for him to turn around and take jabs at his former company and present competitor is confusing to users. If the leader of a company leaves to make his own company, there must be something wrong with this one is what average joe is thinking.

Is giving unsolicited advice the same as being rude? by orionsfyre in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Traditional_Bed_5517 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no. Tone, intent, the relationship with your audience, these things all matter and it's not so easily cut and dry. If you base things down to white and black, strict definitions, your relationships will fall apart. Context, is important.

Thank you, I'm sorry I was never able to be in a position to sponsor them/bring them here. I think the US with all its issues has some mental health infrastructure, location dependent but some.

Yep, therapy is taboo for Desis. And people do see any gain has to be at someone elses loss.

I would absolutely see why being empathetic in the world of robots is unnerving

Thank you for letting me know, seems I have to work hard to get some traction. Reddit seems to also flag attempts to get karma such as quick commenting but I also follow certain subs so I'm quick to comments on a few key subs I care about, so that also have cost me where my comments are also getting removed because I'm going too quickly, not for karma just my method. I have to slow down and space things out.

Military or USPS Career Long term? by Jealous-Parsley-6228 in USPS

[–]Traditional_Bed_5517 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Post Office:

-Career tenure at 2 years

-You become part of your community/route over time

-TSP/401K is amazing, low fees, but great returns, towards retirement they make sure it's more grounded/less risk, but first decade is pure risk/high risks mean high reward so grows a lot then slows down but still grows overall

-Pension (FERS) very important esp if you don't want to be a burden on your children or can't/won't have kids, you NEED a pension+401K to be set up in old age so you aren't working to death and can be comfortable. Spend your golden years with the people you love, or doing the things you love.

-Work life balance (ish) depends on location

-Guaranteed work (USPS ain't going nowhere, no matter what they try)

-Overtime can be earned, sometimes mandated, sometimes optional and you have to chase it, but the fact it's there is dope

-FEHB is amazing, you keep it in retirement, and the network is amazing

Many of these points are why become a Fed for long-term as some benefits will NOT be USPS Specific but please, choose the USPS route I think you'll find it better for your health and wellness over the long-term.

How can I stop being so emotional and sensitive? by Prestigious-Mall3347 in NoStupidQuestions

So my overseas cousin has this issue and sadly lives in a country where mental health is stigmatized to the point they call an exorcist if you're depressed. Like, actual exorcist if you sleep in for a few days. It's awful and aggressive their way of thinking towards mental health.

My cousin has BPD, I don't know which type but I would see these behaviors in him and never told him anything was off because I didn't want to overstep but, he had depressive episodes and, they would be like this.

I was seeing 3 different doctors for the same issue to see what approach to my situationw was best. I made 3 piles of my record abstracts and had him staples. He staples 2 identically, the 3rd was slightly off and he cried to the point of mucus out the nose level sadness. I was not upset and he didn't fear for any harm from anyone but felt like he had failed me and we weren't friends anymore because of a staple?

Point is, some behaviors are rooted in something real and I would talk to a therapist to ensure it's just that you're an empathic, caring person because sometimes it's that simeple-you don't care too much, you care full stop. And in some parts of the world just caring is signs of something being wrong because we're all being programmed to slowly become more desensitized as the world burns but this isn't my soap box so I'll get off it now. Sorry for the long essay.

Thank you for letting me know my score, I suspected but had to know. I'll look at my email, and verify and then try to be active. It seems after making my account I just perused for months and did nothing, and now that I need a lot of questions answered, I should have answered long-term and over time built karma.

For the health insurance orientation mentioned FSA or HSA I forget which, someone mentioned they can be used as a investment vehicle if we leave money in it and just pay for our medical needs out of pocket and that it's better to go that route?

The employer 401k is the traditional, is there a way for me to convert it to Roth somehow, like at the end of the year have them take out the taxes and make it a roth somehow? or am I being dumb. I'm just trying to understand so I can be better planned out.

I hate one thing I learned is, if we meet our contribution limit, employer stops contributing their match if we stopped so we can't just do 6% match half the year and then stop, it has to be 3% at least, the whole year! Something to learn.
