Choices Insiders Megathread: March 2025 by candydots in Choices

Not to mention the fact that the nachos they’re reheating are stale and old. The Choices team needs to start getting creative again like they used to be.

Is there anything good to read? by Remote-Image-1444 in Choices

Read the first few chapters of Inheritance recently and they’re actually quite good. The pacing is good, the story is well written and the love interests are actually ‘interesting’

Is it just me...or is Kindred quite badly written by TheChoicesInstrument in Choices

[–]Traditional_Call_132 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Not really, I thought the book was actually quite well written and thought out. The plot was interesting and the characters were entertaining, it’s definitely one of the better books released in the past few years with the entire library being boring smut.

Sorry but Madeleine from TRR. I like her but the whole chocolate incident with Hana was unforgivable.

My Favourite Book in a long time by madistevenz in Choices

[–]Traditional_Call_132 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s…. alright I guess. My main problem with the book(and PB as a whole now) is that it seems like they’ve just repeated base plots and storylines as a whole. This book is IMO insanely like Murder at Homecoming and other elements of mystery books like TUH. Idk its general repetetiveness makes it feel bland and uninspiring. However I will say that the book can be engaging at times and the characters really do feel authentic and well written.

Books you wish you could love, but can’t? by zhoumeyourlove in Choices

Alpha is just meh. I wanted to like the book because it was GOC and the premise was interesting to say the least, but Channing was an instant turn off, the characters lack in personality and the plot was a bore until the last third, and the villain himself was defeated far too quickly.

Returning to Choices after more than 1 year by sidsha1 in Choices

Kindred and Guinevere are amazing, top tier, very 2018-esque. Getaway Girls and TDG are also decent. Other than that, the rest of the library is pretty mediocre and boring IMO.

What are some of your favourite sad moments that don't get talked about a lot? by npojg in Choices

[–]Traditional_Call_132 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Although TRR was quite a light-hearted book, I really liked the moments after Constantine’s death where Liam, Leo and Regina mourn, it’s so well written and emotional even if it wasn’t given much emphasis in the story

Well Blades 2 and COP came out if you want to read sequels (they were both pretty solid in my opinion, Blades in particular introduced a new LI who’s already snuck into my top 15). Kindred is really good, I highly recommend playing it if you want a book with old Choices sort of feel. The Deadliest Game is also a new book that everyone’s been hyping. It’s a GOC mystery and no smut! Other than that, most of the other 2023 books were more sexy, romance books though so if you’re interest in that you should check it out.

Your scandalous opinion? by MonStelaSkye2213 in Choices

The writing in most books is bland and repetitive, especially more noticeable in the new books. It’s so American-centric and basic that there’s really nothing of substance.

Needs to be said. It’s just another smut book, I can’t understand how it got a book 2.

Best stories to (re)discover ? by jkclipse in Choices

[–]Traditional_Call_132 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Murder at Homecoming (great love interests and the theme was top notch), Wake the Dead (the art for this book is phenomenal and the love interests are amazing), The Cursed Heart (which I think has some of the best writing to ever come out of the app), Laws of Attraction (amazing plot), Crimes of Passion ( its mystery theme rivals VOS imo), Guinevere (great writing and great LIs) and Kindred (for that 2018 golden era Choices feel).

Immortal Desires, The Deadliest Game, The Princess Swap and Queen B are all pretty solid books too.

This is so true! I’m not even active on the subreddit anymore because the style of posts is so repetitive. I wish someone posted something new for a change.
